Moving on, a TommyKnocker Legend 22nd Olde Oaked Brown ale. Expectations aren't super high.
The wife & I talked, she thinks her dad had another mini-stroke. She is taking him to the doc in the AM. She is sad. I hate to say this but I will be happy for him when he goes. He is just waiting to die. He's had 3 heart attacks. a few strokes & countless mini-strokes. He hasn't really shown interesrt in anything other than staring at the TV for the most part. He was tight with our little dog, but now doesn't even want to walk him. I have told her to be ready and not be so sad. She is really the only one her family that gives a rat's ass about him, so she is equally tore up about that. He was the onethat rejected another by-pass operation. I can't say that I blame him. Once my
quality of life goes south I will feel the same way I am sure.

    Sorry to bring y'all down.

So we bought this device. Amazon dot. Voice activated. I ask "alexa" to play a Bruce tune. No response. My wife asked the same thing and lo and behold Bruce is playing. I think alexa is a computer lesbian.

She is still up in Oklahoma, as my oldest graduates in May, then we can think about moving ( provided we've closed on a house by then ). I told to give a heads up if I need to take any time off. I think I will draw nurse duties Saturday, as one of my Son's teamate's Dad recently died & they are burying him in the KC area. Really feel for that family, not sure how they are fixed for income after his passing. Tried to impart to my kids that death is part of life, but no teenager really hears or wants to hear that message.

Great classic tasting Gose. Flavors of lightly tart lemon, lime, grapefruit, pear, green apple, orange peel, coriander, sea salt, wheat, cracker, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Light fruit tartness, citrus peel bitterness, and earthy spice on the finish. Very smooth and crisp; with light wheat creaminess and balanced acidity/salinity in the mouthfeel. Light-medium dryness. Medium carb/light-medium bodied. A really spot on example of the style. Not as acidic as most of the other American made Gose, but still has a solid amount. Extremely refreshing. Always love it, but slightly prefer the Anderson Valley lineup as a go-to style pick most of the time.

Fantastic! Flavors of tangerine, grapefruit, pineapple, peach, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, lemon/orange peel, light pepper, and pine hops; with moderate wheat, bready, light honey malt balance; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine/citrus peel/grassy bitterness on the finish. Medium bodied; balanced bready/grainy oat creaminess and hop stickiness in the mouthfeel. Touch of resins and increasing dryness; no hop astringency. Very juicy, bright, and dank on hops; with nice malt balance and minimal residual sweetness. Not quite the same tier of some Trillium stuff, but it is really spot on to the signature character. A little more bitter/drying, but all around delicious NE IPA. Grabbed another pack last week. At 3 months since dating, it's even smoother and more juicy than when I reviewed it.

Excellent stuff! Big flavors of chocolate, cocoa, maple, molasses, coffee, caramel, toffee, nuttiness, toasted dark bread, light smoke/char, and herbal hops. Light-moderate herbal/roasted bitterness; with a bittersweet balanced medium-full bodied finish. Nice creaminess and some light sticky/chalkiness from the roast malt/hops in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing dryness. Very complex on the malt bill with a nice presence of the maple/chestnut flavors. Spot on American Porter across the board. Very rich and smooth for 6.8%. Will grab more singles while I can.

Delicious this year as usual. Flavors of big caramel, brown sugar, toasted brown bread, nuttiness, chocolate, cocoa, and light coffee; with moderate hop notes of grapefruit, pineapple, mango, peach, lemon/orange zest, and pine; with floral/grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine/citrus peel bitterness on the finish. Medium-full bodied creamy/bready mouthfeel; with some light sticky/resin hop notes and lightly increasing dryness. Zero hop astringency. Minimal warming for 9.2%. Really delicious stuff. Hoppy for a brown as expected, but still very well balanced and not overly bitter/drying. Will grab this one again while it is around. Glad it's a seasonal.

    Cheers

About go watch some more John Adams on Amazon. This Legend is pretty good. Next up a Wiseacre Gemulleckeit O'Fest. Trying round up some strays from the darkest recesses of my fridge & drink them before they become vinegar or malty messes...

Not sure what it is about this video, but I haven't laughed so hard in a long time so I thought I'd share. Basically, it's a spoof on those YouTube cooking or crafting videos where everything comes together perfectly. Hopefully I'm not going crazy and at least some of you also find it funny-

    Good evening BAs!

Made my annual trip up to visit my family in Wisconsin last week. We drink and watch college basketball Thursday-Saturday, always one of my favorite weeks of the year. Needed a few days off of beer after that.

But this has been staring at me ever since my buddy dropped two off on his way back from KBS week. Thanks bud...

Freshest I've ever had KBS and the coffee is definitely popping. Layers of rich chocolate, bourbon, and subtle barrel. Always among my favorite releases of the year and this year is no different. Will definitely be seeking out a four pack or two if I can track them down in Chicago.

    Cheers BAs!
