Pardon the interruption as I bring you the official results of the final episode in the epic (in the liberal use of the word) trilogy of Rock Out With Your Bock Out.

Wait... I have just been informed by @LeperJim and the Supreme Goat Master that we were once again not eligible for prizes. In that case, let's see what asshole is taking my tankard from me...

WBAYDN? #1631 (AKA "What beer are you deinking now?") saw many memorable, or lobotomize worthy moments (Pete Rose, @tasterschoice62 circa 2015), but this was probably my favorite given my dry sense of humor:

Otherwise, we had some real commitment to the cause from @cjgiant, @thebeers, @larryi86, @FatBoyGotSwagger, and @SABERG to name a few. If there was a contest to see who had the most Bocks in their mouth yesterday, it wold take some time to figure out. @SABERG even whipped out his home brewed Maibock and a 16 year old Aventinus.

Speaking of commitment, @goingbrokeonbeer made sure to pack some beers in his suitcase for the occasion. @Beer-Panda represented from oversees, @FBarber brought his goats out to drink, @TongoRad showed up with his horns on, @jkblr consumed a 2007 Helles that probably tasted like Helles, @GrumpyGas led us to believe for a second that this was all over with an open Pabst bock can psych-out, @Prager62 put his bock in a clock (not sure if this is the first documented occasion), and @Rootscipio represented LNBA with a 2010 Aventinus. One thing is for sure, the GotD Federation Council had their work cut out for them yesterday. You guys were sandbagging.

Appropriately though, @Lingenbrau posted the last bock of the night after being trapped at a wedding/funeral all day. There were a few others that were a bit skeptical from @hopsutin and @Catracho5, but my favorite label of the day was the one that @Buck89 drank.

Getting ready for the final round of The Masters

 

Congratulations to the ROWYBO3 champion, @lordofthewiens ! That's one hell of a fancy award that, as a glassware specialist, I can assure you it is proper for every single beer . Speaking of awards, there is one more to give out. This one...



Bock. The term is commonly misinterpreted for meaning “strong”, but I'm going to let you all in on a little secret. “Bock” actually translates directly into; “My God, look at that magnificent and gorgeous animal! So majestic, with that thick coat and those curvy horns. We must honor and praise it by naming all of our deliciously brewed stronger biers after it, and adorning their labels with its grace.”. I swear. Type it in a translator.

Before this exceptionally prestigious award is given out to one very deserving advocate for taking on this challenge of honoring the Bock in all of its glory, I must take time to thank @LeperJim and @WesMantooth for inviting the insanity of myself and The Staff, to join theirs. Along with @THSdrummer 's hosting of the Maibock tasting thread, Rock Out With Your Bock Out: Drei has been one of the most entertaining and rewarding events yet, and it has been an honor and pleasure to be a part of. And with that, it's time for the Glass of the Day (ROWYBO Edition!) Awards!

GotD: This was no easy task. Every BA stepped up their game, and I wish I could give you all the award. But I can't, so toughen up (me not you). There was a birthday display if epic (pro)pourtions, #ShamelssPandering, and some crazy glass usage on display. But, considering he wasn't even supposed to be here, @thebeers put his horns on an went for it full throttle! 4 glasses, 4 bocks, 4 beauties! You had me at the angry ram video, but you kept on bockin’! Cheers and congrats, and enjoy that ultimate prize!!!

I was very skeptical yet surprised trying this. I thought 8 hops would make the profile muddy but I steas, I got such a clean beer. Just what I needed too. Classic pine and citrus. Some tropical but it's overshadowed by grapefruit and orange peel and light pine. Malt base is enough to keep the citrus from destroying your tongue. So we'll done. My new favorite from new belgium. Cheers.

 

Going to have to find me some where like that! Looks like some phenomenal sushi!
