Drinking the Wolverine.
Ever have one of those days when you open a beer in the morning because you know it will take a good portion of the day to finish?
Tonights new brew.. Oettingier Schwarzbier. I liked the schwarzbier I had last time so much I decided to start working my way through all the ones I could find. This beer had the same physical characteristics as the Mönchshof Schwarzbier I had the other night, same cola color and same head, but there are several big differences. First off, lighter on the carbonation. Oettingier also had much less in the way of a chocolate flavor. The consistency of the beer was also different, this one seems a little more watery and not as full bodied. Still, not a bad beer....
Didn't have to wait in line, know a guy who knows a guy, or give my left nut for this one. Cheers!
Started earlier had this last night and popped another today

Is nice! Bottled February '13. Hoppy, smokey, sickly... heaven.
I see that the label says bottle conditioned. So...if also available served on cask, slightly inferior from the bottle?

No idea what it's like on tap but they do it on keg and cask. Other people seem to love it too, and damn are they right to.
I hate you.
But if I said I loved you, would you send me some?

What's your thoughts on the Brush Tail Saison? I keep seeing it in the mix a six section of a local store but am on the fence about giving it a try.

It's Cantillon tasting day at Dieu du Ciel! With BA oldp0rt. Started out with Bio lambic ad now on to the grand cru bruocsella. Cheers!
A lovely bit of beer.
It has the look and smell of a Saison. The taste, though it has some of the basics of what a the style brings to the table, was, imho, too dry in a hoppy/bitter way. I WILL say it's one darn refreshing brew to drink and I'll get more because of that.
A f@#$%^*g grand slam!
