We have a heavy military history in my family. Uncle Tony killed in Sicely , Uncle Danny wounded on Iwo Jima, his son Anthony a Nam vet. My uncles Nick and Bill both AF Vets. I'm a Marine Vet , my sons AF and does Army support and one Afghanastan tour. Not heavy on college grads here that's for sure.

    A wee bit of Bourbon.

Many thanks to @Jdubz78 for my 3-day weekend closer...this smells awesome, almost like creme soda. The taste is very interesting...a little chocolate thrown into the mix at first, a lot of licorice, almost sambuca-like. Even at 6 months, little bit of burn at the end, but I like it.

Delicious stuff as usual. Flavors of big tart lemon, lime, grapefruit, guava, papaya, tangerine, citrus zest, and light pine; with some light caramel, wheat, and bready malt balance; floral/grassy hops and hay/funkiness in there too. Fair amount of lactic tartness with light pine/citrus peel bitterness on the finish. Medium bodied with balanced acidity and grainy wheat creaminess in the mouthfeel. Light increasing acidic dryness. Really refreshing! Not much of an IPA; more of a session sour with hop flavors. Not much bitterness, but the juicy tropical hop and lacto notes are delicious.

Delicious English brown as always. Flavors of big caramel, brown sugar, toffee, toasted biscuit, brown bread, coconut, and light chocolate/cocoa; with some light herbal/spicy hops and raisiny yeast dark fruits. Light herbal bitterness; nice medium bodied creamy mouthfeel, with light hop/roast malt stickiness. Touch silky. Minimal dryness. Great malt complexity and not too overly heavy on coconut flavors; with balancing light hop/yeast character. This is basically my fallback replacement for Death By Coconut; it is pretty similar in flavors, but not as roasty.

Incredible DIPA! Flavors of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, apricot, mango, lemon/orange peel, citrus rind, and pine hops; with moderate caramel/toasted bread malt balance; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Good sized pine/citrus rind/spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium-plus bodied; crisp, sticky, resinous and fairly creamy/grainy balanced mouthfeel. Strong increasing resin dryness, no lingering hop astringency. Still highly impressed with this, even with the new higher ABV a couple years ago. This was originally one of the first IPAs way back 6 years ago to really blow me away, and I think it still just as impressive; even though my rating numbers have shifted overall to lower scores over time. I love C hops and Simcoe any day of the week. Got one bottle left.

Fantastic as always. Flavors of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, cinnamon, vanilla, cream, nutmeg, chile pepper, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, toasted brown bread, and light char. Light roast/spice/charred bitterness on the finish. Medium-full bodied; great creamy/silky mouthfeel, with some light sticky/chalky roast/spice notes as well. Lightly increasing dryness. Zero pepper heat. Balance is pretty much perfect between spices and stout flavors. This was the last one I had, I ended up grabbing 3 packs this year. Will definitely stock up again when it comes back in the fall!

Enjoyed a vacation in Destin, FL this weekend. I got to finally try some Funky Buddha beers and I brought this one home with me. Tasty and refreshing. Well done and not nearly as gimmicky as it sounds like it could be.

You could still find strawberry rhubarb? I might need to get up to Wisconsin again. I thought it was fantastic.

I get it...cool pic...but I'm pretty sure I'd be shot by my wife before could I finish setting up this shot. I'm not allowed to set newspaper on the sofa, let alone beer on the piano keys.

(that said, send me some hoppin' frog and I'll give it a try)
