Morning all! I'm watching the kids so mom can get some more sleep. We're watching the borussia Dortmund game (got to see Pulisic) and playing Trains. :stuck_out_tongue:

I half-assed looked for that one in Belgium a couple weeks ago, and didn't find it. Didn't help that I only remembered it as "that brewery that starts with an 'I'". Enjoy!

Good morning! My first step back beer is Yards Brawler, a tasty beer that I often over look and tend to just drink when I'm out and want a lower alcohol beer. The book is a graphic novel telling the history of beer from 7000 BCE to today. Looking forward to a fun Saturday here, cheers!

    Great start!
Can't wait to pull up a stool at the V-Bar later after I get home from work.
    Nice!
Favorite book so far..and not just because you give me great beer.
You need to read "Of Mice and Men".
Short, easy read that really conveys a feeling.
You'll feel just like you are sharing hot dusty bunk house with a group of sweaty farm hands.
    Good times!
It is a good read though.

Thoreau and Calvin and Hobbs  are right up there as well.

    Cheers!

Keeping with the theme of kids and sleep, or the lack of sleep.

We tried to keep this one quiet

Haha - doubt we can bring in that many customers... but would be happy if we did.

Funny enough - I always though Of Mice and Men was "too easy" a read that everyone chose at some point for a book report. I was "above" that (but I wasn't going to read War and Peace, either). I'll probably knock out all three shorter books in this compilation before debating an attempt at the longer ones.

Slight aside, I actually think I remember more from Tortilla Flat than Cannery Row so far. And both remind me a small amount of Don Quixote, which I only got about halfway through. And Calvin and Hobbs was awesome, thanks @dcotom for that and the inspiration for digging up the "old photo" I posted

    Snob!
Of course, you are right. I remember the lower level reading classes reading it in Jr. High I think.
I for some reason picked it up about fifteen years ago and found it easy yet thought provoking.
Typical of Steinbeck it is gritty and really brings the era to life. I'm glad I didn't read it in school, it most likely would have been wasted on me.

Thanks. It only holds 9-10 ounces and is perfect for AAL enjoyment.

We don't need a lot of customers, just thirsty ones! I'll be back after some errands and settle in for the long haul.

Not so much as to what I'm drinking now as to what I'm cooking with now. Making a venison roast in these two bad boys.[IMG]

Purely and clearly focused on 1/3 of the theme in this post:

Pretty new Aslin beer (a Pilsner, sorta), definitively new Ocelot glass (that apparently holds 16oz). Paused my reading and randomly wandered to Woodstock YouTube videos.

Sometimes we just have to make it up as we go...
