A morning haircut and stop at my local store produced a new to Indiana beer/brewery. It looks beautiful, smells good and tastes more like a west coast than NE IPA. A good beer, but I doubt I'll be buying more. We're spoiled with better choices around here. I predict another dust collector once the novelty wears off, unless the price comes down from the $13 I forked over.

I have an open mind with regards to freshness and IPA's as some hold up better than others. It would be nice when trying something for the first time to get it within a smaller window. Our distribution leaves little to be desired and they could be to blame?

Happy Friday, get your drink on!

my daughters, sunrise, the day of totality
across from the confluence of the Deschutes and Crooked River
we ate chocolate frosted donettes and drank mimosas
I drank an Eclipse - Elijah Craig and a Map of the Sun the night before

I expected it to be emotional yet was overwhelmed
however, I had peed at about 70% just to be sure < I really did
Spiritual is too soft a word to describe the impact

a special moment of awe was the falling into totality
as if God pulled a giant dimmer switch, we went from dusk to full night over 2 seconds
as if a wave of darkness rolled in - say whoooosh - that is how long it took
    darkness whoooshed over us
we became giddy, we gasped, I couldn't stop laughing.

the location was magnificent, we were together, we all said WoW
everyone we met that day was happy, no one was a stranger
    friday cheers

It’s a yearly special edition of their blond beer for charity (part of what you pay for the beer goes to charity, a national fund that supports children suffering from cancer in this case).

Wonderful initiative an a wonderful blond.

Alsace was gorgeous and the people couldn't have been nicer and helpful. Sadly it's a solid 500kms from here, but I'd definitely visit again... Cheers !

    Happy weekend BAs!

Should be a fun one here. A good friend since childhood is getting married and I'm ready to party. The rehearsal stats in an hour, so I figure I should get in a warmup beer for the weekend ahead.

Have a great weekend BAs! Cheers!

    @JakeScully,
My family heritage dates back to the Alsace region...I have never been there but it looks absolutely beautiful...another bucket-list destination!

In the meantime, I am sad that my final days in Belgium are now becoming a reality. A couple more days of which I hope tomorrow does not disappoint. However, today is enough for me to leave happy...next WBAYDN post may come as no surprise...

I got a raise at work! Asked for one when an email was sent out explaining the yearly distribution of merit raises and how they're only giving a few, not much but it's something, etc. Still happy with it!
Been doing a lot lately taking on new projects and training my buddy who just switched departments recently.(For context, we basically do data QA that's sent to us from clinical data research). It's a good job, and even 25 year old me who still loves Beavis and Butthead and death metal is finally making a serious impact in the company.
So to celebrate, I got a growler of Woodcock Brothers Imperial Orange Chocolate Stout

I really hate post grunge and nu metal now, but a select few bands made the nostagia cut I guess. I had a Cold hoodie as a kid when Year of the Spider came out and I thought it was badass.Cheers!
