    Rise and shine, BAs!

Brewdogs Dead Pony Club.. A session Pale Ale at only 3.8%. It's good but calls for another...

Same brewery. Vagabond. Gluten free. I'm not even gluten intolerant but okay.

Good morning, BAs! Avoiding cooking breakfast for as long as possible (I'm really just tired of buying eggs every three days). Figured I'd join you with some morning coffee.

Today is a national holiday (All Saint's Day) and the city is a ghost town. A tasty local session IPA to start the afternoon - "Fishbone" by hecatombe brewing co., Sevilla:

Grapefruit nose and bitter lemon rind taste. Zippy lite feel. Hint of onion in the finish. Columbus, Chinook and Mosaic hops. I like!

I'm going to try to find a nearby craft beer bar this afternoon. Crossed fingers it's not closed for the holiday. Cheers from Sevilla!

Our power is back on! Just in time, because it has gotten to be much colder outside. Nice to be warm. The major downside: frost delay at my golf course, looking like 11am tee time.
Might as well drink a beer while I wait.

I've found the bar, Viriato, and it has a hecatombe brewing tap takeover going on! First, a pint of the APA - "Lost Horse":

Skunky hop nose/taste with a little citrus. A tad too watery for me. Ok.

Moving right along, my first pumpkin ale of the year - "Pumpkin Enemy" on tap, by hecatombe brewing:

Good looking, but the allspice is so strong, it is almost undrinkable...oh, well, when in Rome...

It's turned cloudy and the temperature is in the mid 40s. To hell with golf, I'm going to drink some more beer. I think I'll alternate between Born Yesterday and Celebration.

Roast caramel malt. A welcome palate cleanser...

And now for something completely different, a smoked Porter from Italy - Rebel Microbrewery's "Project V":

Smoke, char, lightly burnt toast nose. Roast malt, lite char, burnt caramel malt taste. Medium full, almost fluffy body. Not usually a fan of smoked beers, but I like!

    Simple lunch, simple beer . . .

Clear amber tone with mild/medium malt aroma. Little hop presence (had to search for them) but a malty richness absent from other AAL brands. Oh it's not first list, nor does it pretend to be, but a Mecerdes won't get you to the grocery store any better than a Chevy.

Haha. BINGO! Yeah, they’re amazing. Back home we have egg custard tarts which are similar, but these have ruined those for me.

The key to homeschooling a special needs child is patience. Lots of patience.

    Beer doesn't hurt, either. :stuck_out_tongue:

In fairness, it's for me, not him. I'm thinking the latter option wouldn't make things any easier.

Taking a quick lunch break, then right back at it. I love vacation. :sunglasses:
