Too early for a 12.5% night cap? Pohjala’s “Banger”, an Imperial stout w/prunes, vanilla and Habanero Chillies, from Estonia:

More sweet chocolate and vanilla than pepper sauce which is there in the finish. Rich and chewy. Almost cloying, but the peppers reign in the candy. A dessert sipper with no hint of ABV other than a little warmth in the mouth (along with pepper bite/tingle on tip of tongue). Poured at 56 degrees, this stout is no Cake, but it’s pretty good. Cheers!

    Mid-week libations:

    Round 1...my last TINY:[IMG]
    ...and drinking beautifully:

    Round 2:
Say what you will of Dogfish Head, but this is an absolute beauty:
...I am completely bemused as to why the Dogfish 'Signature Glass' is no longer in production (or at least not available on their website)...perhaps someone on the WBAYDN thread knows why it was retired?
...Another photo to scroll through (sorry!), I am drinking a bottle from this date and is remarkable that this beer seems to sit on shelves...perhaps due to the deluge of other options. However, IMO this is one of the best wood-aged beers that you can easily acquire:

Round 3: Although I still have (and am thankful for them) a few more cans of this beauty, this stands to be the last locally brewed beer in NJ before I move and pursue a new chapter (if not book) in my life's story:
...since I love the essay and artwork equally:
    Freshness...well, of course!

We are comfortably over the hump BA's...I wish you a smooth and favorable declivity to the weekend!

What a wonderful beer! I'm not sure whether to wish it were available year round or to be glad it isn't.

Good evening BA, hope everyone had a good Hump day. Pretty smooth day of mellow work and a couple meetings. Did my usual mid week bottle returns and mini beer haul after work. Got one new sour and some other things. I have plenty new beers after last weekend's complete splurge.

    Today's reviews:

Nice radler. Nice head retention/lacing for the style. Aromas and flavors of juicy/lightly tart grapefruit, passion fruit, citrus zest, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, and mild herbal/grassy hop earthiness. Mild herbal/grassy/citrus peel bitterness and fruit tartness on the finish. Moderately crisp/clean finishing. Medium-high carbonation and light-medium body; fairly bready/grainy malt mouthfeel; light hop stickiness and citrus acidity. Lightly increasing tart/bitter/carbonated dryness. Very refreshing. Quite flavorful, not watery feeling for 4.5%. Very pleasant stuff. Balanced fruit and pale lager flavors; with just enough earthy hop balance. Unique in that it does not use any soda, so more of a regular fruit beer overall. I enjoyed it. 3.68

Very good APA. Amazing head retention and lasting thick lacing on the glass. Flavors of big tangerine, grapefruit, lemon zest, orange peel, mango, melon, and light pepper/pine hops; with toasted biscuit, light caramel malt balance; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Similar, but muted aromas. Light pine, citrus peel, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body; bready/grainy malt creaminess and some hop stickiness in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing bitter dryness, never astringent. Very flavorful and refreshing, 5.2%. A bit old for this can(2/13/17), but everything was fine by me(slight gusher though). Juicy Cascade/Mandarina hop complexity; perfect malt balance, never overly sweet/heavy feeling. This is a spot brew for the style. 3.81
    [IMG]

Delicious gose. Aromas and flavors of lightly tart lemon, lime, peach, pear, red apple, melon, white grape, coriander, and sea salt; with balanced wheat, white bread dough malts; mild lacto funk, herbal/grassy spice, and yeasty earthiness. Mild lactic tartness and coriander bitter/spiciness on the finish. Moderately crisp/clean finishing. Medium carbonation and light body; balanced grainy malt, lactic acid, and light salinity in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing tart/spicy dryness, no pucker. Insanely refreshing from the mild acidity. Very flavorful and not watery feeling for 4.2%. Not as sour as I expected, but this is a spot on gose. Very well balanced fruity yeast/lacto, coriander, salt, wheat/pale malts. Really big fan, would be perfect for summer. 3.93

This was an awesome Wee Heavy! Quite dark for the style from the cocoa/coffee. Aromas and flavors of big caramel, brown sugar, milk chocolate, nutty medium roast coffee, cocoa, toffee, molasses, and toasted dark/brown bread; with lighter notes of peat smoke, vanilla, raisin, plum, prune, fig, date, licorice, herbal/grassy hops, and yeasty earthiness. Mild herbal/grassy/spicy hop and roast bitterness on the finish. Light-medium carbonation and medium-full body; great creamy/bready/grainy malt mouthfeel; slight hop stickiness and chalky roast. Slightly drying bitter/roast. No cloying sweetness. Absolutely spot on stuff. Very rich and complex dark/bready malts with nice cocoa/coffee presence; mild complementing fruity yeast and earthy hop notes in the background. Does not feel overly roasty to fall out of style at all. They nailed this one. Really unique, I loved it. 4.1

KCBC Intruder Alert DIPA (8.3% abv)...

KCBC has been fairly underwhelming for me. While I am not one to write off a brewery, I do become leery of some... So I only bought one can of this, an imperial IPA with a canning date of 11/17/17...

Gotta be their best offering, at least to my tastes... This is as close to an Other Half beer as they've gotten - blind-folded, I think I could easily mistake it as such... A real fruit-smoothie juice bomb of a beer - just ripping with ripe tropical impressions, citrusy high-points, and some orchard fruit impressions as well... Totally NE-style, plush and lush, smooth and soft... Bitterness is mild, sweetness is moderate... On the heels of Other Half's Space Daydream Imperial Oat Cream IPA, I find it comparable in quality...

    Cheers...
