What beer are you drinking now? #1881

Go with imgur. I have used tinypic and photobucket and found imgur the easiest and most reliable to use.

 

Next up: Blackstone Black Belle. It's an BBA Imperial Stout brewed with cacao nibs. Pretty good, but something is just a bit different about it that I can't quite put my finger on.



Switching to some Allman Brothers Live at Fillmore East:

 

I bought this for my wife for Hanukkah, and she was nice enough to share it with me.

Time to slow down and drink something with a little less octane. After all, I am almost 30 years old. Ok, not true. But my youngest daugher is almost 30.

 

First time having this, and honestly it's better than I thought it'd be.

 

Bell's Porter, 5.6% ABV, 27 IBU. Pours black with a two finger tan head. Nose is malty, taste follows with a touch of roast malt, slight bitter close. Decent mouthfeel, stout-like, overall very good.

 

Mad Elf Grand Cru,a slight difference from regular mad elf. 11% abv so I'm not sure I'm finishing this tonight.

 

Time for some Lush.

Not a big Winter Ale fan, never had a 10 Barrel brew before but I’ve heard they’re not craft This brew came in a gift basket my father purchased last week at a charity auction. Came with a couple 10barrel beers, a couple deschutes beers and a Payette Brewing BA Porter, the best of the bunch! Oh and some beer nuts! If I can’t say anything nice I won’t say anything at all. Just not my thing.

I had the same beer last night. An awesome stout! Is a bit high octane (16% ABV!).

 

Sand City, knocking 'em outta the park!

Up the Beach, 8.6% DIPA collab with Horus Aged Ales, double dry hopped with Galaxy, Citra, and Vic Secret... 11/15 canning...

Sand City doesn't get the attention that Other Half gets, but I'm telling you, their beers are at that level - definitely have their own character - it's almost like they're somewhere between Other Half and SingleCut - I can't put my finger on it, but there's something very distinct about them - I'm almost thinking its the water? The yeast? I dunno.

Anyways... I know this is gonna sound negative, but it wasn't: first impression was caramel and buttered popcorn - I know, weird, and technically not what you want in beer - transitioned into this mild, muted, earthy, musky, musty fruit thing... Bitterness was moderate, with just hints of sweetness, smooth but gripping the tongue... Subtly complex and very compelling... My descriptors are failing me, but this beer did not... Elite brew...

Too easy...


One of the most aesthetically complete and personally appealing albums...
