What beer are you drinking now? #1885

My fourth since dinner, but they’re small and so cute and only 4.8%...Prost!

 

No doubt, the Delirium Noel I purchased last week was from 2015 ... I can’t read the code on the bottle though

 

Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale. First time trying these. I didn't really know what to expect. Bottled 30 days ago 11/18 and they are on sale for $7.99 so I went with it. With the wintery label and the red appearance after pouring I was expecting some kind of spiced winter ambery ale or something. It has a toasted grain thing going on but I am happy that it's not too sweet or Carmely. Thick creamy head with a touch of honey, kinda like Bells 2 hearted but different. It tastes like a smooth malty ipa with some fruity and citrus goodness. It has good fresh hop flavor and some mild lingering bitterness on the finish. I'm impressed, its probably my favorite SN beer so far.

 

Finally getting around to putting this in my gullet, after watching the new Star Wars. Really a great beer thank you @LeperJim really glad you gave me two.

 

Glad you like it. I believe that's their best beer. Saw Star Wars yesterday and found it entertaining. Cheers!

The wine barrels really compliment this beer well.

 

After a lot of big stouts the last few weeks, I threw my taste buds a curve ball with this one. They handled it VERY well.

I hope this will help...on my bottle from Saturday night the best by was 11/19. The 17:28 was the hour it was bottled. The L23 means Lot/Tank 23, and the 16328 means year and date bottled, so Year is 2016, and Julian date is 328, so roughly November 24...or maybe you already know all this and you are just saying the printed numbers on your bottle are smudged/damaged/unreadable...anyway, a great beer, and Cheers!

 

Is that drinking good now? I have a bottle in the fridge I was planning on drinking soon.

It's labeled with a best before date, 5 years out, in the day/month/year European style. My 750 had the date printed on the top of the cage. Some small bottles on the tasting were dated on the actual label.

It was still great. It's just odd that it showed up in a bottle shop exactly in time for Christmas last year already a year and a half old. It was the most commonly reviewed beer on the Belgian Christmas beer tasting last Saturday, so there plenty of reviews on various vintages.
