    Ok, got to enjoy this with a couple that had some real beer chops:

    Bartender was highly touting this beer (which I seconded) to them. I offered to buy them a KBS to split (which they said they hadn’t tried), but the bar menu was out of date and no KBS. So I upgraded.

    I appreciate that they gave me an excuse to buy it. They seemed to enjoy it, and the GF and I definitely are. Thanks to T&A for covering the tip!! (If they even check, I’m hoping they know it’s appreciated)

    Story aside, I’m getting a nice dose of coffee here and a more subdued maple note, which I think is awesome!

    Work week's over, BAs. Thank heaven! I'm having an Old Raritan at Twin Elephant. It's a 7.8% Imperial Milk Porter with copious amounts of Pumpkin Habanero pepper developed by the Plant Biology Dept. at Rutgers. I'm really impressed. This would give Xocoveza a run for its money!

    My semi-vacation continues. This is a beer I picked up in Iowa on Wednesday, and I'm glad I did.

    look: 4.5 | smell: 4.25 | taste: 4.5 | feel: 4.25 | overall: 4.25

    Pours pitch black. The head is 2 finger, brown, frothy, and retention is quite good. Some nice lacing on the glass.
    The nose is nice and rich with coffee.
    Taste - Oh, my! Really rich with coffee flavor. It hits you hard, and good. Nice coffee bitterness on the backside.
    Feel is pretty full bodied. Not watery at all.
    This is one of the better coffee stouts I've had. I have a feeling that it will be a good coffee breakfast beer. Damn good, and I would get it again if I'm in Iowa.
