Deep frying a Primerib later!
Merry Christmas to all! Kids have torn open presents and now we watch The Christmas Story, a tradition in my household. Pleased to split this with the wife (although I’ll probably drink most of hers too!).
The reason why I drink!
Merry Christmas all
Enjoying this delightful local offering
Merry Christmas BA Beer Friends and “Bar” Mates! Bright sunny breezy 40 or so today, lots of people walking around town. We are back at spy central, er, the apt. now following a scrumptious 4 course Christmas dinner, with French Champagne and a bottle of Swiss Chardonnay at the swanky Les Trois Rois (The 3 Kings) Hotel/Restaurant. Not sure how Santa got this into our stocking ,
but I’ve never had it - Christmas Bomb:
Cinnamon, chilies, coffee, cocoa, bitter roast malt, dark chocolate, pepper sauce finish. Medium full viscous body with warmth in the mouth and tingly pepper bite on the tongue. To me, tastes more like Cake than Bomb!, but the ABV is right on and I like the burning pepper sauce on lips. Thank you Santa - Hope everyone has a happy day full of joy and Love!
Cheers from Basel!
Merry Christmas, Everyone! Figured this is a pretty special day, so here's my special beer. Of special note - it was bottled two months before I was born in 1977. It's just over 40 years old. One of the best barley wines in the world! Oh right, and it's freaking amazing! Feel very lucky to crack this bottle. I will now savor it for a while!
Good Morning & Merry Christmas BA!
I worked all night, made it to 7:30 am mass, spent an hour or so at my mother in law's place with family and am now trying to get my brain to shut down for a couple hours of sleep. Drinking this Midwestern treasure from Michigan...
Hope this day finds you well and drinking in good company! Cheers
Just waiting for the Cavs game at this point
LMAO wow! Looks kinda like the headcrabs from Half Life.
Great looking kids (and beer)! Cheers and Merry Christmas!
From my experience most maple and vanilla beers don’t hold up very well. I intenend to drink all of mine sooner than later
The kids are into their stuff now so I am into mine. Merry Christmas all
Merry Christmas Advocates!
Going to be enjoying many special brews today
Packages open and will be hosting a dinner with family later this afternoon...
Enjoy your day!
Merry Christmas everyone! Leftover birthday party beer from Saturday as the good stuff warms slightly from the fridge.
An amazing beer! I hope the years have been kind to it - enjoy your family, the day, and the beer - Cheers!
Thanks! The same to you and your family! Cheers!
Up next is a new beer from Lake Time Brewing.
Sandy Bottoms American Wheat.

This beer pours a hazy golden color. The head was white, 2 finger, frothy. Retention was poor. Some lacing on the glass.
The nose is has a mild wheat aroma - banana, cloves. Very mild aroma.
Taste - is much better than the nose. Very rich wheat flavor. The banana is very pronounced. Some of the cloves also, but they mix well together.
Feel - is about what is expected from a wheat beer in body and mouthfeel.
Overall, a good wheat beer.
Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout
Started with two nice Hefeweizen in Germany on this Christmas day!
Merry Christmas! Stay safe and enjoy your loved ones! Cheers!
Hootie-Hoo from @Sixpoint brewery only small batch releases. Great smell, juicy but dry, has the haze and traditional Pale Ale taste. Love this one. Merry Christmas everyone!
Another winter beer for me, and I made hot Swiss chocolate with Amaretto & whipped cream for Mrs. Z and Jr.:
Starting season 3 of Fargo...Merry Christmas!
Drinking the Christmas present that I got from my wife this morning. Using the opener that my daughter got me as well! Cheers!
An image from our morning...
Coupled with the resultant beer, Hardywood Christmas Morning
Happy Christmas Day to those celebrating, happy Monday to all others!
The good stuff now. Love the slight tartness of the blueberries and hint of sweet almonds. Great beer! But, I don't think it's worth double the price of regular BCBS.
Merry Christmas, BAs!
One of my favorite Christmas songs, my friend. Have a Merry Christmas!
I'm starting with the 2015, which has loads of chili and cinnamon.
That deserves an old fashioned @Lingenbrau blue
Or an upgrade thereof, were one to exist.
Back in the WBAYDN thread for the first time in probably 9months-ish. Wishing all you beer nerds the happiest of holidays!
Starting off strong, but hey at least it’s after noon....
Merry Christmas fellow advocates of beer!
Good to see ya back - Merry Christmas!
La Goudale de Noël... Cheers and merry Christmas day.
PS: I also had as gifts a sixer and a variety haul from grandma and mother so I'll posting in WBAYDN a bit the next days.
That's an impressive home bar ... holy cow!!!!
Merry Christmas to all my fellow beer lovers!
Went digging through the fridge for something appropriate . . .
Aroma is like walking a path between a Southern Pine forest and a citrus grove. Strong but not intense, nicely balanced.
Taste is beautiful. Hops forward with an entering sharpness of citrus peel but quickly melding into something richly multi layered. Hops on levels I've rarely experienced with each being richer than the one that preceded it. Well played. Malt appears mid palate and builds growing bolder all the way into the aftertaste where lt lingers until added to by a final hop flourish.
