    Merry Christmas BA Beer Friends and “Bar” Mates! Bright sunny breezy 40 or so today, lots of people walking around town. We are back at spy central, er, the apt. now following a scrumptious 4 course Christmas dinner, with French Champagne and a bottle of Swiss Chardonnay at the swanky Les Trois Rois (The 3 Kings) Hotel/Restaurant. Not sure how Santa got this into our stocking :sunglasses:,
    but I’ve never had it - Christmas Bomb:



    Cinnamon, chilies,coffee, cocoa, bitter roast malt, dark chocolate, pepper sauce finish. Medium full viscous body with warmth in the mouth and tingly pepper bite on the tongue. To me, tastes more like Cake than Bomb!, but the ABV is right on and I like the burning pepper sauce on lips. Thank you Santa - Hope everyone has a happy day full of joy and Love!

    Merry Christmas, Everyone! Figured this is a pretty special day, so here's my special beer. Of special note - it was bottled two months before I was born in 1977. It's just over 40 years old. One of the best barley wines in the world! Oh right, and it's freaking amazing! Feel very lucky to crack this bottle. I will now savor it for a while!

    I worked all night, made it to 7:30 am mass, spent an hour or so at my mother in law's place with family and am now trying to get my brain to shut down for a couple hours of sleep. Drinking this Midwestern treasure from Michigan...

    From my experience most maple and vanilla beers don’t hold up very well. I intenend to drink all of mine sooner than later

    look: 3.75 | smell: 3.25 | taste: 4.25 | feel: 4 | overall: 3.75

    This beer pours a hazy golden color. The head was white, 2 finger, frothy. Retention was poor. Some lacing on the glass.
    The nose is has a mild wheat aroma - banana, cloves. Very mild aroma.
    Taste - is much better than the nose. Very rich wheat flavor. The banana is very pronounced. Some of the cloves also, but they mix well together.
    Feel - is about what is expected from a wheat beer in body and mouthfeel.
    Overall, a good wheat beer.
