What beer are you drinking now? #1904

My house is a Kolsch house. It's rare that there's an American beer in my area that can hang with the big ones. Barrier is a local in the NYC area. Their Icculus is up to the task and then some. Sooo good. I also think that my appreciation for Reissdorf is back in full... and with a vengeance. I've been up and down with it over the years. It's a delicate style in my experience. Getting good Fruh in a bottle in these parts is a real rarity. This one delivers. What a good group! Please excuse the absent umlauts. Cheers.

Happy Saturday, BA! As one of the literally DOZENS of planet Earth residents who prefers the snow and cold to heat I am lovinggg this weather.

I have a Passaic Drift here from Twin Elephant. It’s a Pale (adjunct) Lager. Cheers!

 

Today's first beer is "Hop Bullet" from Sierra Nevada. I can assume that it is fresh as it is a spring seasonal. Pours a deep golden yellow with a very generous head. As some of the head dissipates it is leaving plenty of lacing. It smells sweet and refreshing like it is telling me that it is going to be awesome before I even try it. The taste is very good but I have to say that it is a little bitter for me especially after how sweet it smelled. It has an excellent finish with good mouthfeel and flavor retention. The further I get into to glass the more I am enjoying it and the less bitterness I experience.

 

Brunch, it's what's for lunch.Liking this Anderson Valley stuff, pretty new to me, glad it's in town.

Põhjala Mets 7% Black IPA. A forest-inspired black IPA brewed with hand picked spruce tips and forest blueberries. Wow!
Nice. And a very black IPA, almost stout. I like hese forest inspired beers. Pairing this one with some heavy smoked ham from the forest region of Belgium.

Bad picture but good amount of tart and finishes like candy. I think this may have sat too long, as the Apricot is too faint to be found. Oh well.
