Surprised to find this is not an overly hoppy amber out of Tree House (unlike Trillium's off-style takes), although it is still opaque af.

Enjoying a nice margarita and a light beer. Like I always say...."if you are going to do something stupid, do it at home; it will cost a shit ton less". Hadn't thought about a fresh beer with a margarita, but the wife just "drink bombed" me.....what's a fella to do......

Good evening BA, hope everyone had a good Thursday. Semi busy work day once again, but not too stressful. Made my usual Thursday store visit after work; nothing much new today, so I grabbed a pricey lambic I haven't had yet.

    Today's reviews:

Fantastic NEIPA! Great head retention and lasting lacing on the glass. Aromas and flavors of big tangerine, lemon, grapefruit, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, mango, melon, guava, berry, citrus peel/zest, and light pepper/pine hops; with balanced wheat, white bread dough, light honeyed malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Very mild pine, zesty, herbal, grassy bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body; creamy/bready/silky wheat/oat mouthfeel; some sticky hops and slight resins. Lightly increasing lingering bitter dryness, no cloying/astringency. This is one of the smoothest drinking NEIPAs I have ever had, glass was gone quick. Amazingly soft on mouthfeel. Extremely juicy, vibrant, and fairly dank hops; balanced bready malt backbone, not overly sweet. Amarillo, Chinook, Citra, Mosaic, Simcoe. Always a good combo there. Will buy this again if/when they start distro to MI. Have had nothing but awesome beers from the Columbus brewery so far. They are nailing it. 4.25

Last of the Xmas stout pack. Delicious stuff. Great head retention and lacing on the glass. Aromas and flavors of big milk chocolate, cocoa, caramel, brown sugar, vanilla, cream, toffee, cinnamon, habanero pepper, and toasted dark bread; with light nuttiness, wood, and herbal hops. Light herbal/roasted bitterness and pepper/cinnamon spiciness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body; nice creamy/bready malt mouthfeel; light silkiness, chalky roast, and spice stickiness. Slightly increasing bitter/spicy dryness, no cloying/astringency. Very easy drinking and nicely rich for 5.2%. Lightly increasing pepper heat through the glass, never overwhelming. Really nice variant on the base beer. Nice cinnamon/pepper presence and balance with the base beer; well restrained and not overdone at all. I really enjoy the mellow lingering heat in pepper beers. Very impressive. 3.9

Fantastic imperial stout. Great head retention and lasting lacing on the glass. Flavors of huge milk chocolate, cocoa, caramel, vanilla, cream, fudge, toffee, vanilla, spicy rye whiskey, oak, and toasted dark/brown bread; with light notes of coffee, coconut, smoke, marshmallow, molasses, licorice, and dark fruits. Similar aromas, a bit of booze in there as it warms. Very mild roast bitterness and rye whiskey/oak spiciness on the finish. Light-medium carbonation and super full body; very creamy, silky, slick, and velvety mouthfeel that is fantastic. Minimal chalky roast, oak tannins, or dryness. Never cloying. Dangerous smooth sipping, mildly increasing warmth of 11%, touch of booze. Hit all my expectations. Extremely rich malt complexity with perfect barrel integration. A very thick and dense pouring beer from the rye and lactose. Very impressive and spot on for an imperial cream stout, not too roasty. Glad I grabbed a couple more a while back. 4.25

September 2016 bottling, best before 2036. Fantastic! Aromas and flavors of big tart lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, citrus peel, peach, pear, red/green apple, melon, white wine, hay, straw, grass, peppercorn, leathery/musty funk, wet wood, light-moderate wheat/crackery malts, and yeasty earthiness. Moderate peppery Brett/oak spiciness and some lactic tartness on the finish. High carbonation, light-medium body, and a very crisp/clean finishing. Balanced grainy malt, oak tannins, and acidity in the mouthfeel. Quickly increasing carbonated/spicy dryness. Never puckering/astringent. Pretty damn refreshing for 7% too. Never overly lactic. Classic as hell barnyard Gueuze Brett funk profile as expected; balancing pale/wheat malt and nice oak presence. Wonderful stuff. Looking forward to trying the 4 "Vat" boons I bought now. 4.25

Having a Luponic Distortion Revolution 008. I really dig this beer. I should've bought more of it and less of some others. Oh well. Live and learn (and yearn, maybe, if they don't make this again). Change the world... (I'm doing what I can)
