Putting a little package together for @bstyle and darn one of my Tree House Brite with Nelson blew up all over me and the kids back packs. Tossed in this replacement. Hopefully that never happens again. Cheers and have a great week.

 

Founders All Day IPA!

It might only be 8 AM here on the edge of the Caribbean, but what the heck. It's the last day of vacation!

 

So tired this morning I actually added real coffee (cooled, of course) to my HOTBOX.

Something bright and snappy on this early Summer morning . . .





Light hazy yellow color with small white cap.

Aroma of slightly ripe pineapple with a touch of other citrus.

Flavor is surprisingly tart. Perhaps because I think of pineapple as a sweet flavor this took a period of adjustment but the result was worth the effort. Pineapple is part of the taste but not very much yet it does a bit to punch up an otherwise prosaic flavor profile. The rest is undefined citrus and is well balanced.

A pleasant little wheat brew that is dry and tart while retaining a decidedly pineapple scent. I question if pineapple flavor at this level really adds much or is little more than marketing to sell what would otherwise be another garden variety wheat brew. I think if tartness were reduced and sweetness increased this would be a better tasting brew.

 

Thanks @TheGent i was prepared for a really Smokey one because of the name and then description, but surprisingly lighter on smoke. Still delicious thanks

When this was a large can with a fancy label , I probably would have opened it much sooner
Nice hazy pale ale however, definitely good enough for a fancy large can.

Home for lunch, then back out into the thicket for some slow motion obstacle course meditation. This beer is one of the most refreshing and delicious beers I have had recently. Cheers!
