Tyskie Gronie. Just very good beer for a good price (1,19 Euro). Widely available (here that is), since it is produced at the Grolsch brewery here in Holland.

It's before 10:30a, so I gotta start light with this Motueka, Citra, Simcoe, Mosaic beauty.

 

The girls found me and drug me off to eat...drinking Triple Crossing’s “Falcon Smash” IPA:

 

It's a lovely warm evening and we're sitting outside drinking local beers. This is Negev Oasis, a 4.7% Belgian Pale Ale that is surprisingly good! It used to be brewed by a micro brewery in southern Israel that sold out to a conglomerate. It's now contract brewed by Alexander Brewing. Tomorrow we'll be visiting a brewery in the Golan Heights. Cheers from the Galilee!

 

I'm drinking a new craft lager from a company which has until now produced sodas. They opted for a retro beer brand resurrected from the dead but in the marketing they have made it clear that it's not the same beer. It is 5.4% abv which is appropriate for the Export lager it is labeled as. Colorwise it is darkish-golden verging on amber. Aromawise it is dominated by fruity yeast notes which doesn't make me think of a lager beer, but it reminds me of a few different Swedish craft beers. In the taste it is balanced between a mild sweetness and hop bitterness. It tastes like there's some Munich or Vienna in there which would also be at least partially responsible for the color. The finish dries out despite the initial sweetness. The fruitiness is present in the flavor also but is covered somewhat by the malt and hop flavors. It tastes like it's from a small upstart Swedish craft brewery and doesn't taste like a lager beer, but at the same time I don't dislike the flavor. For the price that they are charging however I would expect them to deliver a credible Export lager, not just an ersatz version.
