Another Voss Kviek yeast NEIPA. Delicious stuff as expected. Great fluffy head retention and soapy lacing on the glass. Flavors of big grapefruit, orange juice, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, mango, melon, papaya, guava, berry, citrus zest, and slight pepper/pine hops; with moderate wheat, white bread dough, light honeyed sweetness; herbal, floral, grassy hop and yeast earthiness. Similar/muted aromas. Very minimal pine, zesty, herbal, grassy bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation, medium-plus body; very creamy/silky/bready malts and slight sticky hops in the mouthfeel. Slightly increasing lingering bitter dryness. Insanely smooth drinking, with a perfectly soft mouthfeel. Pretty refreshing. No warmth of 6.2%. El Dorado, Citra, Centennial hops. Super juicy hops and Kviek yeast; perfectly balanced wheat/oat/malts, not overly sweet. Spot on style. 3.93

Still got plenty more Speciation to review. This was amazing! Fantastic lasting head retention and thick lacing for a sour. Aromas and flavors of big sour/tart/tangy black currants, raspberry, blueberry, fruit skin/pits, cherry, lemon, lime, green apple, melon, red grape/wine, oak, hay, straw, and grass; with moderate wheat, crackery malts; lighter notes of leathery/musty funk, red wine vinegar, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate fruity/lactic tart/sourness, fruit tang, and light yeast/oak spiciness on the finish. Medium-high carbonation, medium body, and moderately crisp finishing. Balanced grainy malts, lactic acid, and fruit tang/tannins in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing acidic/tangy/carbonated dryness. Minimal puckering sourness. Very smooth, not overly lactic, minimal warming 7.6%. Amazing balance of jammy currants and well rounded Brett/bacteria complexity; nice oak presence and pale/wheat malt backbone against acidity. This is one of the absolute best ones I have had yet, out of 23. Still have 6 more, with more coming in distro this weekend. Keep the MI sour saga rolling on. 4.33

My dog was acting a fool so I went upstairs to drink a few with you distinguished heros. I had to come down to pop this one and not only had she kicked me out the living room she had taken my recliner.

I was not a big fan of the IPA I had from Edmund’s Oast, but the grisette and this one are damn fine.

    Cheers!

    Just finished up a flight.

Avery 25 (pretty meh, solid stout but nothing to write home about)
Lakewood Peanut Butter Temptress *very solid, probbaly my second favorite peanut butter stout, tasted like nutty buddies)
Stone WootStout (another solid but unremarkable pour)
Red Gap Big Daddy Daryl IPA (Very bland for a double IPA, easy to drink, not muc complexity)

@Lingenbrau didn't send me this beer.

    I bought it myself.

    At the liquor store.

    With my allowance money.

I saved up for two weeks.

Now it's pilsner time...Mrs. Goot and I are still sweating a bit from this green chili enhanced supper of pork steak Spanish rice.

The meat (fresh from a local independent butcher shop - Andy's Meat Market) was cooked with yellow onion, oregano, garlic, diced tomatoes, and medium roasted Hatch Valley green chili from 505 Southwestern. I damn fine dish...

Saved the best for last before I head back to Nashville. I've been seeing a lot of Allagash tonight so I'm glad to be in good company. This one was just straight berry juice in the best possible way. Really becomes more nuanced as it warms up, each berry comes through instead of being a mash-up of the four.
