I'm in the minority apparently, but I really dig this beer. Beautiful blend of hops and rum. For my palate, they are extremely harmonious and both shine. Being strong flavors, I get how it doesn't work for everyone though. Luckily, my brother and buddy gave me their extras.

@brutalfarce sent me this Pappy's Porter in our last trade. I love the guy and it's not his fault that this beer was literally a double black IPA on steroids...



My gosh this was a complete fail for me. Pine, grapefruit rind, resins, and coffee with unrelenting high IBU's that will not stop on the palate. The flavor is good ---- if I'm looking for a double black IPA. I was hoping for a creamy porter, and I got a face full of unrelenting grassy piney bitterness. The feel is ALL resin. This was a total style fail, would not recommend on the basis of a porter alone. 2.97 out of 5.


You know, awhile back I made a Red IPA and it wasn't bitter enough in the end and I reclassified it as a mild red ale. If we're ****** style standards like this, I guess I technically could have classified it as what I originally intended it to be...

 

Evidently I still cannot seem to comprehend how to upload images. That's my technological ineptitude, not the beer...Sad, seeing as I'm 23 years old, and computers should be my bread and butter.

 

Cheers fellow late night enibriators. Checking out The Apostle on Netflix. Fear the Dark had promise but any movie I watch then have to read about to understand misses the mark for me. This one isnt much better so far overall. This beer is pretty good though.

Agree with you. Had some last week at the Mills location and was very pleased. Thought the Beer Camp 222 Porter was solid too

 

The Narwahl is just a touch hoppy at this point in my personal opinion, though still excellent. I have a 2016 I'm looking forward to trying when the snow flies. We'll see if I can hold out that long. I'm just glad they sell it in six packs instead of four packs now, I will probably age of this 2018 until 2020 at least (if I can hold out that long...ha!)

 

Well that was a lovely nap. Happy to report that letting this SN/Boulevard Terra Ingonita warm up yielded a damn tasty beer despite it being consumed 3 years past its reccomended BBD.
I would say this superior to my fresh tasting some 5 years ago. I believe I may have another beer in store later.
