Glad you liked it. I was there several times and it was a great place to have a beer because of the view-beer was mediocre at best. From what I have seen they have upped their game big time. I have a bottle of Mother Of All Storms barleywine courtesy of @jzeilinger which I plan to open this Friday w @GreenBayBA and my son-looking forward to it !

    Playing a little catch-up...
After beer last night, Basil Hayden Scotch with dry cured ham on crackers...
And no, it didn't really "pair" well per se - more like I just ate a bunch of crackers with awesome ham and then drank Scotch, but a win is a win...

Tonight I started with Sticky Situation, a 7.5% abv Belgian dubbel from Gun Hill...
Canned 9/24/18, a collaboration with West Kill Brewing, made with bourbon barrel aged maple syrup and toasted maple bark... Characteristics suggest watery dates and maple syrup... Oak tannins sort their way through lending some drying oakiness on the finish... Mildly sweet without much bitterness, and a faint shellac of maple and pine resin lingering on the palate... Fairly light-bodied, lightly carbonated, and very drinkable... Perhaps lacking some of the depth of flavor and feel of a traditional dubbel, this is still a very enjoyable beer... The bourbon's influence on the maple syrup is barely noticeable, and this is more of a maple and wood infused thin dubbel... Give it a try, but dubbel purists may find it lacking...

While I drank it I finally got all caught up with the MCU via Amazon Prime...

Another really great flick, packed with goodness, and, like most, it has a mid-credit and post-credit scene - winning stuff - can't wait for the next release, Captain Marvel, as well as the untitled Avengers installment, due in theaters in March and May, respectively...

Currently drinking That's a Paddlin' from Mikkeller SD...
New England-style DIPA, part of their "Hop Series;" canned 9/11/18... Delightfully juicy, with lots of orange, mango, and pineapple, and a fluffy, soft feel... Smooth and plush, sweet and plump - a real treat of a DIPA... Really diggin' this...

    Food for thought...

Therapeutic and stressful at the same time??? So hungry!!!

    Music to my ears...

    Cheers...

This beer pours a beautiful red/purple color. Dark, and deep. The head is red, 1 finger, but the retention is poor.
The nose is nice and rich with blueberry. Slightly tart nose.
Taste - it is a nice, rich, deep, slightly tart blueberry taste. The blueberry isn't artificial - it is all natural.
Bubbly feeling. The body is quite full, even for such a low ABV beer.
Solid Berliner. Just fun, and easy drinking. A nice change up from all the IPAs and stouts.

Was fun, but being the type of venue it was not as much as an outdoor show. The Youngbloods played at Goddard which was and may still be a hippy-dippy type type school. They would bring in people to teach you what you wanted to learn. Heavy flower power. Youngbloods played for 3 hrs. no breaks-awesome ! The Central Park shows were pretty cool as well. The band shell was not far from the street and one could go and just hang out outside and listen.

Being from Jersey ever heard of Jones Beach on Long Island ?

[IMG] What a nightmare of a day. Drove about a hundred miles to try to get trade material, and completely struck out. Hopefully better luck this weekend. The person I've been dealing with has been super cool, and I'm getting like 4 steps closer to putting some checks on my beer bucket list.
I went to some bullshit place in Freeport today, and grabbed this. Amazing Brett saison. Unreal. Also, I grabbed a bottle of Allagash Pick Your Own, but I grabbed a bottle from the very way back. I got home, and realized that it was a bottle of HIVE 56. And I am not upset in the slightest. Can't find Hive anywhere.
Anyway, I'm super glad I posted a trade thread on here. There are actually genuinely good people left in the world. Cheers everyone.

Great American porter. Aromas and flavors of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, nuttiness, and toasted dark/brown bread; with light notes of raisin, plum, citrus/zest, smoke, char, and herbal/floral/grassy hops. Pretty muted aromas. Very mild herbal, floral, grassy, zesty hop; and roast/char bitterness on the finish. Medium-plus carbonation and medium body; with very creamy/silky/bready malts; slight sticky hops and chalky roast in the mouthfeel. Slightly increasing lingering hop/roast dryness. Very drinkable, 6%. Spot on style, not overly roasty or bitter. Very clean and nicely rich malt complexity; mild fruity yeast and balancing citrusy Centennial/Cascade hops.

Outstanding Brut IPA. Aromas and flavors of big tangerine, grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, berries, citrus zest, and light pepper/pine hops; with some wheat, cracker, white bread, light honeyed malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine, zesty, herbal, floral, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation, light body, and moderately crisp/clean finishing. Balanced creamy/grainy malts and sticky hops in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing lingering bitter dryness. No hop astringency. Very flavorful/refreshing, 7%. Not overly aggressive. Loved the Citra/Amarillo showcase as usual. Not as harsh as I was expecting on bitterness, but that crisp/light body is all there. Very juicy and lightly dank hops; with a solid bready/grainy malt backbone, and mild lingering sweetness. Was my first Brut review, and I am a big fan of the style so far.

Fantastic as usual. Aromas and flavors of big grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pineapple, apricot, mango, melon, citrus peel/rind, light pepper, and pine hops; with moderate toasted biscuit, light honeyed malt balance; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body, and fairly crisp finishing. Balanced creamy/bready/grainy malts and sticky hops in the mouthfeel. Some resins/rinds, light-moderate increasing bitter dryness, no astringency. Very juicy, vibrant, and fairly dank/earthy hop complexity; nice bready malt backbone, with minimal residual sweetness from lingering dryness. Grabbed 2 packs already. A top favorite harvest ale every year. Feels like Centennial/Amarillo this year, a bit more dank than last year. Used to have Simcoe in some previous years I believe.

Awesome Brett IPA! Aromas and flavors of big lightly tart lemon, lime, grapefruit, tangerine, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, berries, red/green apple, citrus peel/rind, peppercorn, and pine hops/yeast; with moderate wheat, cracker, white bread dough malts; hay, straw, herbal, floral, grass, light musty brett funk, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, grassy bitterness; peppery yeast spiciness; and light Brett tang/tartness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body, and fairly crisp finishing. Balanced creamy/bready/grainy wheat and sticky hops in the mouthfeel; light resins/rinds and tangy Brett. Light-moderate increasing bitter/spicy dryness, no hop astringency. Very smooth, not overly aggressive, 7.3%. Simcoe, Citra, and Cascade. Very juicy, vibrant, and fairly dank/earthy hops; balanced Brett yeast complexity; and a nice pale/wheat malt backbone, with minimal residual sweetness from lingering dryness. Would buy again easily. They are very good at making this style.
