Clear amber gold color with white cap and scant lacing.

Aroma of sweet, rich malt and lightly floral, spicy hops.

Richer than the usual Amber I come across with a decidedly malty presence and enough hop presence to balance and keep things refreshing. The malt is rich, deep, seemly sweet without actually being sweet and hops are there with a light touch.

Medium full texture with balancing carbonation.

A moreso Amber that doesn't venture into roasted malt territory. Rich enough to enjoy but not so much that you don't want another. Food and company friendly.

I'm always happy to find this in town, and canned two weeks ago. Good job, Total Wine!

More in store tastings. Was a long wait after posting BCBS on his facebook, and the whole town showed up :weary:. At least I had a special personal stash.

This was fantastic. Aromas and flavors of huge milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, nuts, maple syrup, vanilla, cream, and toasted dark bread; with lighter notes of smoke, char, molasses, dark fruit, and herbal/grassy hops. Light-moderate herbal/grassy hop, and roast/char bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and fairly full body. Very creamy, silky, velvety, bready malts; some sticky hops, and chalky char/roast in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing hop/char bitter dryness; no cloying/acrid flavors. Dangerously smooth sipping, mild warmth of 12%. Amazing balance of rich malts and vanilla/maple complexity; with nice earthy hop presence against sweetness. Was a bit more bitter/drying that expected, but got smoother/silkier as it warmed up. 4.25

17 with a slight edge, a bit more well rounded. 18 has a slight metallic type aftertaste that mellows as it warms.

@russpowell: The Sooners seem to have righted the ship. Should be a good second half.

I heard it was quite bad! It’s not usually like that. Did you get the EQ collabs?
