Had forgotten about this beer until I saw the 6 in Total Wine in Gainesville last weekend. Not sure it should be about the same price point as Enjoy By....but I bought it and am liking it again this year... only 8 more working days this year before about 14 days off....

This was amazing! Great head retention/lacing for the ABV. Aromas and flavors of huge milk/dark chocolate, orange juice/peel/zest, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, fudge, marshmallow, bourbon, toasted oak, and dark/brown bread; with light notes of coconut, licorice, molasses, raisin, fig, date, smoke, char, leather, tobacco, herbal/peppery hops, and yeast earthiness. Light herbal/roast/char, citrus peel/zesty bitterness; and bourbon/oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Light-medium carbonation and fairy full body; very creamy/silky/bready malts; light sticky hops, chalky char/roast, and oak tannins in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering hop/char/citrus bitterness, and bourbon/oak spiciness. Dangerously smooth sipping, mildly increasing warmth of 12%, minimal barrel booze. Perfectly balanced rich malts, citrus vibrancy, chocolate, and bourbon barrel presence/integration. Not overly boozy, tannic, drying on barrels. One of my all time favorite BBA stout series, never been disappointed. Very well priced. 4.32

This beer is delicious...and it is absolutely beautiful to boot. I’m hard-pressed to think of too many year round, easily accessible barrel aged beers. Backwoods Bastard and Boulevard’s Whiskey Barrel Stout come to mind. This one is sublime...

At $8.50 a bomber, this is about as good as it gets for a none barrel aged stout. It won’t blow you away like Jessica Alba on all fours, but it’s just down solid:

Good evening BA. Hope everyone is having a pleasant week so far. I am unwinding at home and figured I'd have a beverage that fits the weather. Big thanks to @AllHopsMatter for tossing this beer my way.
Barebottle - Cakewater Imperial Cake Stout. An 11.7% abv ale brewed with vanilla, cocoa, and coconut.

Really cool how Barebottle posts the brewers recipe on all their bottles.

    Thoughts:

Bottled on 11/15/18. I let the beer sit out for about 15 minutes prior to drinking, and I am drinking rather slowly to see how it develops.
L: The beer pours dark brown, settles pitch black. As it is being poured into the glass, little bubbles travel upwards forming a tight ring around the glass. The head is about half a fingers worth, khaki colored and settled nicely. Alcohol legs are evident. Small, tiny bubbles cling to the glass as I drink the beer, coating the edge of the glass in an appealing fashion.
S: The first thing I notice is chocolate. It's sweet, confectionary chocolate similar to that in a pastry. Molasses and fig also present in the aroma. As it warms, the coconut starts to shine through even more. Not getting much of the vanilla as or right now. Booze evident on the nose.
T: The same chocolate that dominated the aroma is also the domineering flavor. Following the chocolate is roasted malts, molasses, and caramel. The vanilla is minimally present on the finish, but seems more pronounced in the aftertaste. The coconut is very minimal in the majority of the flavor profile, but is somewhat noticeable in the aftertaste. At 11.7 abv, the alcohol is detectible, affirming the beer of its sweet boozy nature. As it warms, the aftertaste leans heavily on malts and chocolate, with hints of vanilla and coconut.
F: Heavy in weight and medium in mouthfeel. The alcohol presence slightly inhibits this beer from being stellar in regards to the feel, but it isn't a deal breaker. Carbonation is moderate, leaning slightly on the higher side. Has a great feel with nice viscosity. Not quite motor oil or chewy in terms of feel, but its commendable.
O: It's an enjoyable beer. It's sweet, dominated by chocolate flavor. I wish the coconut and vanilla shined through in the flavor a little more, but it was enjoyable nonetheless. Its sweet boozy goodness that warms you up on a cool Fall night. I personally think it would be better if it were lower in ABV. Regardless, I am enjoying it.
Update: About 45 minutes later and the chocolate is still dominant flavor. Coconut more pronounced on the finish and aftertaste. Still feel my ratings are justifiable.

No false or inflated naming conventions here...this is some dank shit...

A beautiful appearance exuding a fragrant and resinous aroma. The taste is mild biscuit but really dominated with some incredible hop bitterness, pine resin flavor, and infusions of orange and mango. The body is medium-heavy, crisp and mildly stinging on the palate with a nifty semi-juicy, semi-dry mouthfeel. Pretty outstanding stuff...
