What Beer Are You Drinking Now? #2254

This one is a straggler. A fridge turd, if you will. It’s a very good IPA and has held up nicely. Sweeter, overly ripened mango up front, followed by some brighter orange and lemon citrus notes on the back. Mild bitterness and hop bite.

Stellar Phase by South County thanks to @spartan3186 and a PH2 Passionfruit by Transmitter Brewing.

The Stellar Phase is a great hazy Pale Ale and this PH2 is super tart. Great start before moving on to my 12DOX day 2 bottle here soon!

 

Onto this here ba. Drawn and Quartered. quadruple dry hopped iipa, from Nightmare brewing. Feature nelson sauvin, galaxy, enigma, and citra hops. Start-up brewery here on the island. One can limit last week and I scored two more today. Not as in love with it as I was on NBS but its still pretty good hop juice,

Sunday Paper from Exhibit “A” Brewing

 

I picked this up at Binny’s in Chicago a bit over a month ago. I can’t see a date on here. I’m suspicious because it doesn’t taste like a BA top 250 beer, though it is. It’s great, just not mind blowing.

At Pizza Port in San Diego with the family enjoying a Kook DIPA and a Chronic amber with a tasty pizza. Life is good!

 

Pretty damn good

 

So, Modern Times has released a DDH version of one of their staples, the Critical Band.



Let me get to it right away. This one is a winner. Tantalizing murky bright orange color, 1.5 fingers of head on a semi-aggressive pour, with awesome retention and solid lacing. Bright and pungent smell, full of mangoes, papayas, and passion fruit. Citra overload FTW! Taste follows the nose perfectly, with all of the same fruity flavors. It's worth to remember that this beer is only 6.7% ABV but has more flavor than many double NEIPAs that I get. World-class NEIPA feel with a creamy body and medium carbonation. This a very good single NEIPA, that looks even more impressive when you realize it costs less than $4 (in California).

Overall: 4.31 (rDev: +6.4%) — mine is the 8th rating, and the other current ratings are wrong. The regular Critical Band sits at 4.22. How can this be below 4.05?
