Aloha Sculpin, dry but big tropical taste. Enjoying a quiet day with family watching EPL and movies. We watched Crazy Rich Asians and I quite enjoyed it.

Today is Boxing Day. Some of the smaller shops and a handful of pubs/restaurants are closed. However, the big retailers treat the day like Black Friday, with sales and markdowns galore. Accordingly, I’ve spent the entire afternoon tagging along while Mrs. Z shopped. Glad to be home, with my last Pistonhead Kustom Lager:

After last night’s big dinner out, I’m keeping it simple this evening with a chicken/marinara sauce over penne, and a side salad. Cheers y’all!

Just rated Lancaster Milk Stout and am finishing it up now. Very simple beer, in a good way. It isn't overloaded with adjuncts. It isn't BBA. It's just a quality milk stout. Lactose & milk chocolate are the predominant flavors. It's nice & creamy. Sometimes less is more and something simple can still be pretty damn good. More brewers should try to be good at the simple things.

One of my top favorite pales ales since BP entered the state. Aromas and flavors of big pineapple, peach, pear, tangerine, grapefruit, mango, melon, passion fruit, berries, lemon zest, orange peel/rind, mint, onion, peppercorn, and pine hops; with moderate toasted bread, light caramel malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body, and moderately crisp finishing. Balanced bready/grainy malts, and sticky hops in the mouthfeel. Some resins/rinds, moderate increasing bitter dryness, no hop astringency. Fantastically bright, and fairly dank/earthy Mosaic/Calypso hop complexity; nice malt backbone for the ABV, with no residual sweetness from crisp resin dryness. I love this stuff so much. So drinkable. Wish it didn't move to seasonal status. I used to buy this really often when it had better availability.

Good afternoon, BAs! No pics on vacation with the kiddos, but I'm enjoying a Clown Shoes Snow on the Maple Tree - a 12.5 American Imperial Stout aged in maple bourbon barrels, naturally.

    Cheers!

Hell Ba ... Now having this Erdinger hefeweizen. First time with this offering and I am thoroughly enjoying it. Appearance is what I would expect from the style, cloudy with a good head. Aromas are spicy and peppery with the usual clove, banana, bubble gum and some skunkiness too. Delicious and refreshing wheat beer with a mouthfeel that finishes both crisp and creamy. A very good example of the style. Cheers !

First time back at Other Half in 4 years and since they expanded. I generally avoid places with crowds but figured it might not be crowded on a Wednesday afternoon. Nope. Anyway having Velvet Magnum II macadamia cocunut squares. A Burial collab with cocunut, vanilla, coffee, macadamia nuts and cinnamon. Holy moly
