I've been wanting to try this since I last went to the Minnesota State Fair in 2014 with a cute MILF friend of mine. We got to the Schell's beer stand at 10:30, that had only opened at 10 that beautiful Sunday Morning - AND THEY WERE ALREADY SOLD OUT that day!!!!!

My sexy friend doesn't like beer, but I was crushed. Schell's Shocked made up for it a bit.

But, now, all these years later, I'm having it now. It's worth the wait.

Pours a reddish/purple color. 1 finger purple head. The head retention is ok, and there's some lacing as the head dissipates.
The nose is, for a better word, blueberry. It is a sweet blueberry aroma, and it smells real, not artificial like a lot of beers like this are.
Taste - Again, blueberry, and a sweet blueberry. Not artificial tasting.
There's a nice carbonation feel, and the bubbles dance on my tongue for a long time. About the body I'd expect.
I've been wanting to try this for a while, and I'm glad I did. This would be such a crushable beer on a hot summer day.

Amazing NEDIPA. Aromas and flavors of huge tangerine, orange juice, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, blueberry, gooseberry, grapefruit, lemon, citrus peel/zest, and light pepper/pine hops; with balanced wheat, biscuit dough, light honeyed malt sweetness; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Very mild pine, citrus peel/zest, herbal, floral, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium-plus carbonation and body; with a very creamy, silky, bready mouthfeel; light sticky hops. Lightly increasing lingering bitter dryness. Insanely smooth/soft, zero warming 8.5%. This is my first NEIPA from Ascension, and they nailed it out of the park. Amazing Citra/Mosaic profile. Insanely juicy hops and slight dankness; perfectly balanced wheat/oat/malts; not overly sweet/heavy from lingering dryness. Top tier style, hope they make and distribute more eventually.

I great beer to reset the taste buds. I love these. I missed the sparkling version which is too bad as I really love things that sparkle

Finally getting to this one...Rochefort 10...and I've got to say, there's so much to this, it's pretty incredible, but at under a year old, I'm finding it's simply too young. The depth and complexity is apparent, but masked heavily under booze and other signs of its relatively short time in the bottle. Regardless of the moot-point rating I'll have to give based on this try alone, this is a beer I will absolutely look forward to trying with a few years on it.

    Cheers, BAs!

Such a fantastic beer. Just goes to show you that so many beers have a sweet spot in terms of age though

Amazing as always. Aromas and flavors of huge milk/dark chocolate, nutty coffee, vanilla, cream, caramel, brown sugar, marshmallow, toffee, fudge, bourbon, rye whiskey, coconut, toasted oak, and dark/brown bread; with lighter notes of molasses, raisins, smoke, and herbal/peppery hops. Light roast/char bitterness and bourbon/rye/oak spiciness on the finish. Light-medium carbonation and fairly full body; with a very smooth, creamy, silky, velvety, and rich mouthfeel that is fantastic. Light sticky hops, chalky roast, bourbon/oak tannins, and increasing dryness. Dangerously smooth sipping, mildly warming 12%, minimal barrel booze. Super rich malt complexity and balanced vanilla/coffee flavors; with amazing rye barrel presence/integration. Never overly boozy, tannic, or drying. Not overly roasty or bitter. One of the smoothest BBA beers I have had. Great price as well. Year round shelf beer now. I can still buy 2017, along with 2018 vintages.

Whenever Bill and Bonnie (his wife) would take a vacation trip, they'd bring back beer for me. They were visiting their son in Alabama a couple of years ago and went to a bottle shop in Huntsville to pick up an assortment. They didn't know what to get, so they asked one of the employees for suggestions. They came back with a mix pack that would make any of you guys drool. Bill would trade his wine to his dentist for beer, but didn't have the heart to tell him that he didn't care for the "dark" beers the dentist gave him in return. I would up with plenty of those, with the stipulation that I'd never tell the dentist about it. His boys paid a fitting tribute to their dad by putting his ashes in an ammunition box, which was prominently displayed at the funeral home this evening. I could go on, but I won't. I'm just going to have another glass of Amarone. Thanks for the kind words, guys!

I might get kicked out of the state and I hate to say it, but this was the first year I thought Hop JuJu was not up to par.
