At the Super Bowl/triple birthday party now.
Bought two more six packs of this.
Almost football time. I have no dog in this fight, I'd like to see a good game with the officials not a factor. Cheers.
You’ve got to love inviting people over and telling them what you’re serving only for them to show up saying my kids won’t eat that and bring something else for you to cook. And yes that was a long sentence.
NBS X-Post #1:
I might watch the superbowl a bit later on, but I really only care about the commercials mostly. Those will be on youtube later anyways. Still been barely getting by on finding new stuff to review. Planning on doing local brewery crowlers/growlers very soon, but haven't done it yet. Will be the best way to get more stuff at this point. 70 degree temp difference in 3 days, my A/C had to kick on a bit today(3rd floor heat rising).
Nice. Great fluffy head retention/foamy lacing. Flavors of big cracker, corn, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, light honeyed malts; with some herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery hops. Some muted/fruity corn aromas, but not too overwhelming. Light-moderate herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium-high carbonation, medium body, and moderately crisp/clean finishing. Bready/grainy malts and some sticky hops in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate inceasing bitter/carbonated dryness. No cloying/astringency. Very clean lager flavors, minimal fruity/yeasty notes. Very flavorful, pretty refreshing, 5.9%. Very clean and nicely rich pils malt/grain showcase, with nice earthy hop presence/balance for the style. Not too overwhelming on adjuncts. Miller has some of the highest quality macro adjunct lagers. 3.66
Still waiting on my ribs, but they're getting there. Usually I would smoke them but too cold out and there's still snow on the ground so doing them in the oven. Just cracked my go to beer, a Centennial IPA, always satisfying.
I was never a Tina Turner fan, but a friend of mine turned me on to the Tina Live DVD and I gotta say, she owns it. The band is smoking along with her dancers. At the time this was recorded, she was 69 years old and still owning it.
I have gotten nine Other Half brews from a number of trades. Thought all but one was great.
I love it when a local brewery makes good!
Killing this lizard king.. Such a fantastic pale ale cheers
Still descending into Earth's hoppy core.
Only 3,000 miles to go. Gettin' hot in here. SO buzzin that the commentators almost sound intelligent. Almost.... *_O 'slam to Eric, "slow your roll, bro."
Gonna drink this while watching the Boston Bruins beat the St. Louis Cardinals in the World Cup.
But, first order of business
Cracking into my Lagunitas Undercover Shutdown. Some of my fellow Panthers fans might brand me a heretic for consorting with a Pats fan, since we lost superbowl XXXVIII to them and Vinatieris golden foot.
You need to buckle those bad boys in for safety.
Moving rapidly toward kickoff...
Gonna have to take my leave of Yennefer for a while...
Finger foods I prepped earlier for the game...
Whiskey pickles and prosciutto...
And asiago and cheddar cheese crisps...
Drinking this New England Style IPA from Oyster Bay Brewing...
Got Bigfoot and Wulver as in-game options (as well as High West bourbon )...
Music to my ears...
Seen Hopslam posted a few times (many, many times). Sold me. I gotta buy it if I can find it.
Canopy Tour from Burgeon Beer Co. - hopped with Citra and Simcoe. Cheers!
(Jim Nantz voice) "Hello friends." It was -10 on Wednesday and its 60 degrees today. Welcome to Indiana. Enjoyed a Willettized out back during my personal pregame show. Sitting down with some pizza now to enjoy the game. Good luck to those with a rooting interest tonight (yes, including you Patriots fans).
Daughter #1 would love seeing those food pics. A self described foodie. Had her own food blog for years. Even did the first Chobani yogurt commercial years ago. This old man will try to figure out how to send her the pics.
Looking at the last pic of the offense and defensive lines facing off can scare the shit out of mere mortals. Looks like death and destruction in the making.
Cheers dude. Enjoy the game.
Didn't they basically give you the green light to run yellow lights in a commercial? You think tb has a commercial tonight?
Enjoying the last few minutes as Super Bowl champs. Congrats, Chris Long.
They did and I do. The officers seem to understand.
& We can only hope. I loved this one.
Go Birds. Best year ever.
Nothing wrong with a little Guinness Foreign Extra.
Risotto is like grits. Any my good friend Vinnie said you never rush grits unless you change the laws of physics.
Perrin Carrot Cake Cream Ale
Time to watch the big game. Cheers, everyone.
Love it or hate it, it just seems right.
Chris Long is a really good dude.
Fantastic IPA! Lasting rocky head retention/thick soapy lacing. Aromas and flavors of huge juicy mangoes, red grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, melon, guava, blueberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, and pine hops; with moderate cracker, white bread, light honey/toasted malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium-plus carbonation, medium body, and moderately crisp finishing. Balanced bready/grainy malts and sticky/resinous/rindy hops in the mouthfeel. Moderate increasing resin dryness, no hop astringency. Very smooth, not overly aggressive, minimal warming 7%. Amazing mosaic showcase. Extremely juicy, vibrant, dank, and earthy hops/fruit; with a nice solid pils malt backbone. No residual sweetness from crisp resin dryness. Will definitely buy more of this and the Brut. Will have to revisit the base beer eventually now that we get Fulton, I liked both of the variants a lot more than it. 4.23
Game time. Revolution Brewing's Straightjacket, a Barleywine aged in Bourbon Barrels. Cheers @FBarber
Dinner is finally served and well worth the wait, ribs and baked beans.
Rub with Thai Chilies and a Chipotle BBQ sauce.
Thanks for the Dylan! Cheers!
Relax (It's Just a Hazy IPA). Brewed by Offshoot brewing. A NEIPA brewed on the west coast. Don't ask me.
Single Malt Whiskey Infused Cuvee Van De Keizer. Brought this one back from Belgium last month. It's excellent.
