    Just poured probably my only beer of the day... a new hoppy sour from Idle Hands. Bottled June 2018 but we're just now seeing it in distribution. How will its age affect it?

    Fish tostada with a decadent golden rod.. Decadent makes some killer ipas when they leave out the peanut butter, pecans, marshmallow' etc cheers

    So what did you think of it compared to the 2017...? I cracked that open a few days ago and it was just an absolute chocolate fudge bomb with some coffee... I guess a lot of the coffee flavor has faded, but I still thought it was quite enjoyable.

    This is actually the barrel aged version and it was spectacular... Lots of coffee upfront like chocolate covered espresso beans, with a smooth whiskey taste .. Some wisp of vanilla, caramel, toffee, but just a ton of coffee

    This is quite an interesting brew, a blend of 21 different beers from the 2014 Festival der Bierkulturen, one from each participating brewery. It was then aged in desser wine barrels for, I believe, a year and is now 5 years old.

    It's really not quite the mess you might expect and kinda reminds me of a cross between a Flander's Red and a Faro with its vineous character full of oaky tannins and red fruit notes as well as dextrose sweetness and sour, vinegary notes.
