Did they switch from 16oz to 12oz? I’ve only ever seen Pounders.

Elevation Beer Co.'s 'Oil Man - Coffee'

    4.13/5 rDev -1%
    look: 4 | smell: 4 | taste: 4.25 | feel: 4.25 | overall: 4

Opaque black body; relatively thin yet lasting head, creamy and sticky; sheets of foam cling to the inside of the glass. Rich aroma full of sweet chocolate and fudge; a bit of dark roast coffee in the nose. Bitter chocolate taste with strong black coffee and alcohol notes. Heavy body; rich and sweetly velvety; dry overall with roasted grain char and boozy heaviness.

Elevation Beer Co. superbly crafted a heavy-duty imperial stout with a nice coffee touch. The beer is rich and decadent with very satisfying flavors and feel.

This is a fantastic beer to ease into an early afternoon. The temperature is less than 20°F with a bit of snow cover from this morning and teasing light flurries since. We're expecting more significant snow this evening. Anyway, this is as good a day as any to get a fire going, nurse some good seasonal beers, and watch movies on TCM (plus buy more jazz vinyl online)...

    Nice indeed!
When you like Quadrupel I can recommend to try their oak aged editions. When you see it for a reasonable price (around 15 $ ) that is. Great stuff to drink but probably even better to keep (for a long time).
    Cheers!

Well, there's no better time than the present to enjoy the gift of beer - especially if it's a NE IPA. I'm not sure if this is the first Other Half beer I've tried, but it is the first one I reviewed - Triple Idaho 7 Daydream:

First off - thanks, @EMH73 for this.

Second - this is an interesting one for the "brewer's style vs perceived style thread" as the can calls it: Imperial Oat Cream India Pale Ale. Ummm.... (it is styled as an American Imperial IPA here).

Third - I basically enjoyed this beer - though it leaned to the sweeter side, almost nearing a milkshake beer up front, it had a decent hop profile and allowed a little bitterness to build up in back.

Might seem like a quick turnaround, but I was nearly finished with the last beer after a review when I posted. This one I am posting as it's still a tad cold:

First - thanks again to @EMH73

Second - I believe this is the first Barrier Brewing beer I've had - or at least the first that wasn't in collaboration with someone else.

Third - I'm generally not a milkshake IPA guy, but I do like coconut, and I like Motueaka, and I get a little coconut flavor from Montueka, so let's see...

Kickin' Knowledge pours a highly hazed pale tanned yellow, with nice head and lacing. Nose has an interesting mix of lemongrass light berry (strawberry) fruit notes, a floral vanilla note, and a light indistinct tang (maybe the mango in disguise?). Definitely get the sweet shake with vanilla and coconut up front, the a more tart fruit backing it (not quite Orange Julius, but it came to mind). A little more citrus than I expected, and a slightly fizzy feel cleans out a bunch of the opening flavors. The back end is fairly clean after this, with a little berry-like tartness with a reedy bitterness.

Well, that's my thoughts on the first 50% or so of my pour. Off to complete the review...

"This Day In Grateful Dead History: February 18, 1971. Capitol Theater, Port Chester, NY
The very first Wharf Rat inside the tastiest Dark Star sandwich imaginable. In fact, back in 1997, David Gans played the “Beautiful Jam,” which comprises the Dark Star reprise, for Phil Lesh on Gans’s “Dead to the World” radio show. After listening, Lesh said “Oh, that’s just gorgeous. Ah, that, that…I’m sorry, that just, that brought tears to my eyes.”
On this night, the Grateful Dead decided to debut five original songs. The crowd was treated to debuts of “Bertha,” “Greatest Story Ever Told,” “Loser,” “Playing in The Band,” and “Wharf Rat.” These songs remain all-time fan favorites to this day.
It was also the last night Mickey was with the band until the hiatus."

This is the only beer in my cellar from Westchester County, NY, where this show was played 48 years ago tonight. I was 18, this was my 2nd GD show, and this show cemented my over 50 year relationship with the band.
