Relaxing at the end of the week with a classic version of one of my favorite styles.

The scent starts as a milky, fudgy, chocolatey, coconut mounds bar: Almond Joy. It’s quite the molten chocolate/coconut mousse upfront with a bit of licorice and spiced peppery disbursement. Nonetheless, it’s nutty, oaky, roast-y with hints of rye whiskey, caramel, vanilla, burnt sugar/molasses, and hazelnut emerging as the coconut subsides yet still a prevalent manifestation. Further development and patience brings light to some rum drenched fruit and smoked biscuit

Feel comes with a hefty body, some heat, and moderated bitterness: it’s creamy, silky, and rich yet blends well and doesn’t come across as too cloying or artificial

Light gold color with white cap and lacing.

Aroma of creamy malt, not sweet, creamy, as in slightly rounded, slightly sweet, yet both together. Bit of spicy hops. Aroma descriptors apply to the flavor as well. This a pleasant lightweight that punches a bit above it's class. More of a food accompaniment than stand alone refreshment but it can do that too.

Trying out a new to me brewery this afternoon - Frothy Beard Brewing”...

First up “Sip Sip Pass” a NEIPA:

Next, their WCIPA - “Dude Brah IPA”:

And now, their Brut IPA - “ Shampaggin”:

Field trip over. I’ll go to the grocery store, then home...the beers? All good in the average plus category...Cheers from the West Ashley, Charleston, SC!

[IMG] This Double Dry Hopped version is brewed with Sabro, Rakau, and Mosaic 7% ABV. Pours a very hazy yellow with a half finger sticky white head that leaves thick webs of lace with solid retention. 4

Smell is passion fruit, blueberry, honeydew, green grapes, and white grapefruit rind. 4.25

Taste follows passion fruit, blueberry, honeydew, and a little hint of bitter grapefruit really really balanced. 4.25

Mouthfeel is a solid medium, soft on the palate, not dry, and at 7% ABV insanely drinkable. 4.25

Overall Definitive does it once again and delivers an excellent NEIPA that is really special and different. 4.25

We took today off and went down to our beach house to get my shellfish license and a few other errands that needed to be done on a weekday. I packed a bunch of beers in the cooler bag with the food. When we got to the house my wife unpacked and said “do you know you have about 10 beers here for the weekend?” I said “shoot I hope that’s enough “

This wasn't as popular as some of their releases, but I don't understand why as it was amazing to me. So glad I grabbed a couple of bottles. Enjoy!

I'm starting off the weekend really well! First time having had Pseudo Sue last week, now trying both of these side by side. Shoutout to @Justonemore91 for telling me where to find these.

The Mosaic feels a bit sweeter and smother. The Galaxy a bit more earthy and citrusy. Bottled 2/11 and 2/12. I think I'm partial to the mosaic... but it's going back and forth - both of these are knock out APAs.

“Home” now and drinking Jai Alai on the marsh:

The temperature has been dropping all day as a cold front (it’s about 61) moves in... I’m about 6 blocks/15 minute walk from Charlestowne Fermentory...I’m going to grab my rain coat and walk (are you paying attention @vabeerguy ?) to the brewery for a beer and a slice of pizza. Cheers y’all!

Nice to see this fine Lift Bridge product in four packs of 12 ounce cans for $15. I believe I paid $12 for the 22 ounce bottles last year,
