2nd attempt at this beer. I drainpoured it the first time because with something so prominent: "TART IPA", it did not match my expectations.

Having this a couple weeks later, here's my thoughts:

    - This is really a Brut IPA as the primary profile. It's super dry, crisp and deceivingly light in flavor.
    - Towards the tail end of the palate and in the aftertaste, you do get a brush of fruit (pineapple apparently) and a hint of tartness that's so mild that I question if I'm tasting it. I do, but it's brisk and fleeting.

In the end, this official SF Beer Week beer is an experiment like always, but it's not one of the better Brut IPAs I've had. The pineapple & tartness is a bit peculiar, and I'm glad I only picked up two cans and this is my last.

Post lunch beer, a pour from yesterday’s growler - “Cannon Park Quad” by Munkle Brewing Co., Charleston SC:

An American made Quad that could compete with TR10 and Westy12, smooth and delicious! I’m told this will be the GABF (2019) entry...who knows, maybe another gold in the future?

Granite Falls Hoppalachia. Pretty decent, nothing revolutionary, but enjoyable all the same. Will have to clean up melted plastic out of an oven after this lunch.

A very good one. And would triple like your post for proper glassware. I could find this one here too if going a bit out of my way.

I recently had Sam NEIPA and found it very good. Also downed Sam Adams Boston Lager and rebel IPA. I still believe they are a legendary American brewery. Not the best, not top notch but it has a story of its own there.

[IMG] Needed something warm and toasty on this windy, ice cold day. This is definitely doing the trick, and cranking the heat up to 11. I'm really enjo...wait...what's that smell? Is something burning?? FIRE!!!

Oh, it's just the smoke alarm... Damn beer.

Wasn't Ted Nugent in that band? That is one crazy fu**er.

One could conclude the reason you"think we had a great time." What you really mean to say is I do not remember a whole lot about that night. But it had to be a good time.

I have attended many concerts in the day (one of the reasons my hearing sucks) but none with Nugent. Not by design though.

Westbrook’s “Rinse Repeat Idaho 7” IPA:

Canned 2/4/19. Tics all the NEIPA boxes. Turbid. Juicy grapefruit pineapple melon with a dank low bitterness. And Idaho 7 doesn’t smell/taste oniony like many beers I’ve had hopped with Mosaic. Pillowy but not oppressive. I’d drink another one of these...Cheers!

@guinness77, I combed the web this morning to make sure that my memory was correct regarding GZA's verse on Protect Ya Neck. It was indeed directed at his former label, Cold Chillin'. I love stuff like this; I love history. Peace, my brotha.

This is a beautiful collaboration, unlike some of the IPA collabs going on right now.

Haven't bought any Stone beer since the Northern Lights Rare Beer Fest a couple years ago when they irked me. Now and again one will be left in my basement fridge after our monthly poker game. Found this bastard and decided I am worthy. Cheers.

Seems you love tormenting that poor kid! I have not had Voodo Ranger in awhile but since you drink so many I may have to try one again.
