Morning, BAs! Starting off this beauty of a day with this excellent beer from Central Waters. Rye Barrel Chocolate Porter.

Pizza with Park Pizza & Brewing IPA

 

Very light gold color with bountiful white cap and lacing.

Aroma of mild grain with floral touches. Perhaps a bit of fresh cut hay.





Taste is mild but layered. A small grain presence bolstered by non bittering hops and prickly carbonation. Spiciness is present but not the heavy clove-coriander-fruit approach of some Belgian styles. There is a slight underlying mustiness which I presume comes from the grape influence. Cannot say I really taste Gooseberries but there is an undeniable fruit element that carries things along. I won't call it complex but the whole is greater than the sum of parts.

I’m a Raiders fan kind of because of kind of the same thing. Growing up there wasn’t as AFL and when it came to be
the Patriots sucked and were never on tv We alway got the late game because the Pats never sold out and I grew up watching Oakland.

People are jumping off bridges around here because Sale bombed in the Sox opener, I love it.

I just scored more of this beer on the way home from the gym. Hopefully Drekker keeps showing up consistently in my area.

Seriously, the vibes from this beer are real. The nose is incredible bringing every memory of Christmas back to me instantly - candied figs, glazed pecans, pie crust, fireplace, walnuts. The flavor brings a rush of evergreen and pine and then pie crust, caramel malt, earth, and a unique but appropriate mint note. Creamy feel. Oily resins. I would trade the resins in for more alcohol heat, if I were to change one thing here. Sadly underrated. Looks like I'm rooting for the underdogs lately. Solid stuff! 4.16/5
