Hop Butcher Loophole Technicality DIPA (Citra/Strata/Galaxy). I'm not a big golf fan, but I might have witnessed one of the biggest comebacks in sports history. Congrats to Tiger...now that's redemption. This is one of the bigger juice bombs these guys have produced. Absolutely zero bitterness and full of soft, pillowy tropical fruit juice (mango, pineapple, peach, clementine). Just like Tiger, this is really on point.

    NBS X-Post #1

Got the NBS BIF beers to review from @Coronaeus. I made a huge haul yesterday of new beers, but those will have to wait for tomorrow. I couldn't fit them all in my fridge, which is a rare occurrence. A lot of rare an limited releases from friends.

Starting off with the mystery beer, only thing I know is that it is 7.4%. Bit of a gusher opener. This was excellent. Deep ruby red/purple color. Nice head retention/spotty soapy lacing. Aromas and flavors of big sour/tart/tangy raspberry, blackberry, cherry, cranberry, fruit skin/seeds, lemon, lime, plum, pear, apricot, red/green apple, currant, red grape/wine, toasted oak, hay, straw, and grass; with moderate caramel, brown sugar, toasted bread, light chocolate malts; with lighter notes of vanilla, leathery/musty funk, red wine vinegar, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate fruity/lactic tart/sourness, fruit tang, and light oak spiciness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body; balanced creamy/bready malts, lactic acid, fruit tang, and light oak tannins in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing acidic/tangy dryness, mild increasing pucker factor through the glass, but not overwhelming. Mild increasing warmth of 7.4%. This has got to be a fruited Flanders brown ale or something.

Here is the reveal. I was pretty close, blackberries vs blueberries was where I was wrong. Vanilla was a bit bigger in the nose, but lingering in the taste. Awesome balance between juicy/jammy berries, Brett/Bacteria complexity, oak barrels and dark/bready malts against acidity. Gave me a touch of heartburn. :flushed: 4

Barrier collab with Other Half. What I've learned about 99% of beer collabs is that the lead brewer always maintains their signature. It's cool for marketing, but kinda pointless in the overall scheme. Don't get me wrong, I've had some good ones. I guess I'm just a jaded, young, retired bastard. Cheers!

An excellent Gose brewed with grapes and aged in oak foeders. Easy-drinking, yet not without a certain complexity, with a great, subtle balance.

Another from @Coronaeus. I always am up for a new German Pils. Not sure what the bottle code means, there is no dating. This was awesome. Fantastic fluffy head retention/thick foamy lacing on the glass. Crystal clarity. Aromas and flavors of big lemon cracker, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit malts; with moderate herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery hops. Light-moderate herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation, light-medium body, and moderately crisp/clean finishing. Balanced bready/grainy malts and sticky hops in the mouthfeel. Slight lingering resins. Moderate increasing bitter dryness, no hop astringency. Perfectly clean on lager flavors, no fruity/yeasty notes. Very flavorful/refreshing, not watery for 4.8%. Perfectly balanced super clean pils malts and earthy noble hops(Hallertau?). No residual sweetness from crisp dryness. Amazing style example all around. Loved it. 4.13

I've started noticing that I'm pouring out the last 1/4 of cans that I drink. To each their own. This sh*t is getting mundane, yet here I am. Foreign Objects is now trying to impress me with their use of Mosaic & Vic Secret. Good luck.

I'm really digging this Super Session No.8 with Mosaic. It's so green and herbaceous. Cilantro, grass, parsley, rosemary, lemon and lime. It even has this subtle tartness that reminds me of a super hoppy gose. Insanely drinkable, and super cheap. I love when I find an affordable beer that I actually enjoy.

Off from work early enough to enjoy some of this beautiful cloudy spring day. Hope everyone enjoys the rest of their weekends. Back to the grind tomorrow, for all you white collar BAs!
Cheers! Sip 'em if ya got 'em!
