My favorite mass-produced hazy beer.
Alright alright, last one. Two Hearted. And it pains me to say this, but Let's Go Blues! (?)
Hawks didn't have a great year so I can at least root for someone in the division (?).
Obviously I'm torn.
Hazy picture, hazy beer.
Low resolution, low abv.
3.2% and so much flavor!
Starting my night low and slow; well, low anyway.
I had one of these a while back but it was before I knew to check the date. The one I had before was about a year old and pretty meh but this 6pk was bottled on 5/9/19 and it's damn good.
I had to pull it out from behind 6pks that were from January. I think Kroger was trying to move the old ones because they were on sale. I'm glad I decided to try it again.
Nah, just stiff from standing in the same spot for that long!
Full disclosure: I poured this while drinking that delicious Nano IPA that lasted maybe 5 minutes (if that!)
Busy day today. Tourists are showing up, summer locals are back from down south, and kids are almost out of school. We are so close to full on summer business.
New Odd Sides Radler. This was awesome. Aromas and flavors of big ruby red grapefruit juice, tangerine, lemon, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, mango, melon, berries, citrus peel/zest, peppercorn, pine hops; with moderate cracker, white bready malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, grassy, peppery bitterness; and citrus tang/tartness on the finish. medium-plus carbonation, light-medium body; and moderately crisp/clean finishing. Balanced bready/grainy malts, sticky hops, and citrus acid/tang in the mouthfeel. Moderate increasing bitter/tart/tangy dryness; no hop/fruit astringency. Very flavorful/refreshing, not watery for 3.8%. Awesome balance of vibrant grapefruit and juicy/dank/earthy Citra hops; with a nice clean pale malt backbone for the ABV. Minimal residual sweetness from crisp dryness. One of the best I've had in the style.
Took a chance and picked up a whole sixer of this since I’ve heard good things from some of you.
And glad I did, this is refreshing and solid as hell.
Going for a decidedly more flavorful brew next, BAs...New England Brewing Company's Premeditated Murder barleywine...not quite top-tier, and a bit heavy on the tongue for my liking, but it still stands as another very solid offering from NEBCO...Cheers, BAs!
I think it means Jan 9, 2019. It's usually released sometime around January. I always buy a couple of 12pks. I don't think age affects the taste very much. Great beer for the price!
Fretboard Leggo Beast - BBA Imp. Coffee Stout w/ maple. Damn fine...much more maple forward than CBS although I wouid stop short of saying it is better...
But don't worry... I still think St Louis is boring.
GI Next Coast IPA. Cheers LNBA!
I am torn too but I hate Boston and I hate the Blues. So is it possible for them both to lose?
Trailway - Buck’s Fizz, a tasty Brut IPA
Not looking good. Toppling Goliath Scorpius Morchella DIPA
Congratulations Blues, you all whipped us in crunch time
Avery -- IPA
Trying a new one tonight, Mas Agave by Founders. Still processing this beerarita. Perhaps best paired with a shot of tequila? Cheers!
Outstanding blonde ale. Fantastic fluffy head retention/thick foamy lacing. Crystal clarity. Aromas and flavors of big lemon, orange, honey, cracker, white bread dough, toasted biscuit malts; with lighter notes of peach, pear, melon, red apple, herbal, floral, wood, grass, pepper, and yeast earthiness. Light herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation, light-medium body, and fairly crisp/clean finishing. Creamy, bready, grainy malts/honey; some sticky hops in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing bitter dryness; no cloying/astringency. Very flavorful/refreshing, not watery for 5%. Awesome balance between clean/nicely rich pale malts and citrus/floral honey complexity; with solid earthy Nugget hop presence/balance, and restrained fruity yeast. Mild residual sweetness with crisp dryness. One of the best standard American blondes I've had in a long time. Glad I got the 6 pack as expected.
Every single time I drink this...it blows my mind. I'm just gonna sip this and fade into Bolivian. Cheers, LNBA's!
CCB Tampa Style Lager. Cheers!
Drinking a huge stout after a huge win...
Perrin Black Ale. Cheers!
Happy Hump Day Fuckers
Into the banana and maple oblivion I head. Not enough maple for Evil Twin maple. Still very enjoyable though.
Awesome IPA. Fantastic lasting rocky head retention/thick foamy lacing. Aromas and flavors of big red grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, berries, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, and pine hops; with moderate cracker, toasted biscuit, light honey/caramel malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, woody, floral, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body, and fairly crisp finishing. Balanced creamy/bready/grainy malts and sticky/resinous/rindy hops in the mouthfeel. Moderate increasing resin dryness, no hop astringency. Very smooth, not overly aggressive, minimal warming 7.4%. Chinook, Centennial, Simcoe, Falconers Flight, & Mosaic. Extremely vibrant, dank, earthy, and fairly juicy hop complexity; with a great clean pale malt backbone. Minimal residual sweetness with crisp resin dryness. Spot on West coast style.
Went down to the cellar for something a bit stronger than the last two, and with no abv printed on this 6+ year old bottle it sure is hittin' the spot.

2012 Vintage originally rated 4.5/5.0 across the board back on January 22nd, 2013.
2012 Vintage review tonight; 06/12/2019:
Moderate pour (at 60 degrees) yields a 1/2 inch off white (ultra light tan) head over a brown body with mahogany edges and no lacing. Nose of bourbon, raisins, malt, black licorice, vanilla, and more bourbon. Taste mirrors nose and then some. Holy shit what a near perfect display of flavor with caramel, toffee, cherry, and something akin to the best fruit cake I've ever had! Nice feel and overall, this is why I never drink aged BW too cold; below 50 degrees only for fresh BW. Cheers to my last 2012 (and my last CWBBB for that matter!)!!!
Sipping on a La Maison on this nice sunny evening. Cheers!
Lol thanks for that. It enhanced my experience drinking this beer so much I increased my rating by a half percentage point.
Nice! Sounds amazing.
It was also amazing fresh 6 years ago, no need to age.
It is! Aged Barleywines are at the top of my list. I've done an aged BW tasting with a few friends some years ago; no one left, we all slept where we could, and everyone (to a man) had the same result the next day. Even after showering, brushing teeth, or whatever; we all could not get rid of that BW smell, as it wouldn't stop coming out of our pores!!! Everyone one needs to do the same. 15-20 different 3-10 year old BW's did the trick for the five of us!
Lag's Undercover Shutdown Ale followed by CW BA Rye Barrel Choc Porter, yum - Cheers !
How is my good friend @vabeerguy tonight ? Doing well I hope !
