Finally chose a beer. What I learned from the last album: Ziggy played guitar.

I listened to my favorite side, @Troutbeerbum

The Port City Helles is still very good. Even the girl cat spent some extra time licking the bottle cap.

The 80's references are great. Grew up watching Top Gun, Ghostbusters, and Back to the Future on VHS

As the evening rolls to a close and the sun begins setting while the brats are gurgling on the grill beside me....some Dinosaur Death sent over from @superspak!

The aroma sparked my memory of a now gone-under wine and beer retailer in Omaha, my first taste of their beer scene/distribution that my then girlfriend (now wife) helped me discover. I was planning on moving down there to be with her and was so happy that their beer selection didn't suck. I remember I was stunned at their selection of Founders - many of which I had never even seen in the flesh before (just on BeerAdvocate...what days those were, and hey, it was 2015) and my jaw was just agape. I don't think I had ever seen a beer cooler that long. I think I spent over $100 that day, mostly on FBS and Founders Porter, and drank it all within a week. Oh to bring those days back. Why the aroma sparked that memory is beyond me, the olfactory is an odd thing. The flavor brought forth bitter citrus peels and a lot of herbal elements with some nice juicy fruity notes. Feel was near perfect. Overall the beer scored close to a 4.2 for me. Very nice. Cheers.

Edit : to make this more epic, look at the "U" in the title, it almost looks like a "J". Dinosaur Jr. is one of my favorite alt bands. Niiiice.

Season one felt like you were in the 80's watching a current series/movie.
Hit pause a few times when they are in stores. Very detailed with the packaging. And I haven't eaten fast food for about three years, and I'm craving Whopper after seeing season 3. They took a page from the ET/Reese's Pieces playbook.

Delicious IPA as always. Flavors of big red grapefruit, tangerine, peach, pineapple, apricot, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, pepper, and pine hops; with some honey, toasted bread, light caramel malt balance; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium body/carbonation, and fairly crisp finishing. Balanced creamy/bready/grainy malts and sticky/resinous hops in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing resin dryness, no hop astringency. Balanced juicy, vibrant, dank, earthy hop complexity; nice bready malt backbone, with minimal residual sweetness with crisp resin dryness. They changed the hops from Chinook/Centennial/Amarillo to Chinook/Centennial/Citra/Crystal a couple years ago. Not seeing much of a difference. Glad to see they tried to keep it consistent on taste. I love the entire series of the Hero IPAs.

One of my favorite new beers I tried last year. I've really been digging the wine BA stouts which is kind of strange since I don't think I've ever had a glass of wine in my life...Now an entire bottle of Mad dog 20/20 is a different story...

Hot as hell today and going to be even worse tomorrow. Stocked up on beer today to keep me hydrated throughout the rough temperatures ahead... upwards of 100F heat index in MA tomorrow which is brutal for this area. Hope my garden likes the sun. This is a new beer to me but I first had an IPA from these guys the other night... let's see how this one turns out!
