Masthead Single Origin Coffee Stout

I picked up this 1/24 pint can at the grocery store a while back thinking it's Masthead and it has to be good. Then when I put it in the cellar fridge I noticed the ABV and thought it's probably a boring dry stout. Sometimes I can really be an idiot.

So I cracked it open tonight as kind of a light nightcap and poured into a pint glass. Nice dark color with a tan head. Smell was coffee, good coffee of course, but also vanilla, chocolate and roasty malts. The taste is outstanding as a carnival of flavors is taking place. Mouthfeel is very refreshing as befits a low alc stout.

Maybe I should pick up more of this.

I think Schlafly is by far my most favorite Pumpkin Ale, hands down. They really do a great job with that beer!!

 

My 99th different Belgian Saison review. Honestly, other than the fact that everyone makes them I don’t know how it’s my 5th most reviewed style. I don’t tend to get excited by them. The number of average saisons to excellent ones is like 9 out of 10. This is my first beer from Blackberry Farms and i’m blown away! Absolutely dialed in.

 

Not sure if I'll get thru this one, looks way overcarbonated...

finishing off the last of a 4 pack of Henhouse Oyster Stout. My first oyster stout that isn't a big ol beast of a beer (rings in at a lovely and underutilized 4.8%) and it's as pleasant as ever. I will continue to keep an eye out for it when I'm a little south of home and might just get up the gumption to try some of their other beers too
