I do love New Glarus R&D time, always an adventure! In my opinion the best brewmaster there is and his avenue to go off the beaten path and experiment with anything that comes to mind. 5th straight year of the Vintage blended line that's become so tried and true!

Crazy that this has already been sitting in bottles for almost 2 and a half years before release! Yet another example that New Glarus can hold their seat at the table with the Belgian Lambics.

Alright time for the sister beer... "Relaxin' All Cool"

Instead of Vic Secret/Motueka/Simcoe, this is Galaxy/Motueka/Mosaic. That's... really fucking similar. Huh. :joy: Let's compare and contrast!

    Review here!

BTW, my reviews for both of these beers have the same amount of characters. Funny, that... eh?

So glad to see this on Youtube. A RateYourMusic user reminded me of this band earlier today and I recalled that I owned the album. Just ripped my CD copy and listening again now. So damn good. Heavy, groovy, brutal death metal with grind/alternative rock/nu-metal elements. Love it!

This beer is surprisingly tasty for a 3.8% beer. It's all subjective in the end, but for me it's one of the best session beers I've tried.

    Old Nation -- Brut IPA

    4.3/5 rDev +5.4%
    look: 4 | smell: 4.5 | taste: 4.25 | feel: 4.25 | overall: 4.25

Pale yellow body, crystal clear; plenty of beautiful carbonation; head is one-finger thick and lasting, white and creamy. Nicely blended smell comprised of light malt, soft citrus notes, and a smidgen of fresh grass; floral. The taste follows along the lines of the aroma, mild citrus and light cereal grain presence; faint hop bitterness. Medium body; crisp and dry, especially at the finish (it tends to grow in dryness).

This beer is nicely balanced, light and refreshingly dry with an incredible and alluring aroma. I've only tried a couple of brut IPAs before this and haven't liked a one. This beer changes my impression of brut IPAs. I can't say that this will be a new go-to beer style for me, but if I encounter more with this beer's impressive characteristics, I'll be a happy beer drinker.

I passed on this one at the taproom last Wednesday to try Double Sunshine. I'm so glad I grabbed some of these cans to haul home. This one kills the grapefruit notes and the Chinook hops burst with pine. Cheers and be safe on this Saturday night BA's!

Ascension One Moore Wheat. Awesome APWA. Lasting rocky head retention/thick foamy lacing. Aromas and flavors of big lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, peach, pear, apricot, mango, melon, red apple, gooseberry, white grape/wine, citrus peel/zest, and light peppercorn/pine hops; with moderate wheat, cracker, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit malts; herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Light pine, citrus peel/zest, herbal, floral, grassy, peppery bitterness; and wheat tang/tartness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; creamy, bready, grainy wheat; some sticky hops, and light resins/rinds in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing lingering bitter dryness, no cloying/astringency. Super smooth/soft, minimal warming 6%. Awesome Nelson hop showcase. Very juicy, and lightly dank/earthy hops/wheat yeast; with nice sized pale/wheat malt backbone. Light residual sweetness with lingering dryness. Loved it for the style. 4.13

Mostly drinking wine with the gf tonight, BAs, but I did take the time to knock out this new one for me: Stillwater Kung Pao.

Damn .... for what I like, this was incredible .... except for the thin and flat mouthfeel, which damn near ruins it.

    Cheers and good night, BAs!
