    Pint of O-fest ba. Gonna probably walk the line of most of the style available (perhaps with some known bad locals exemptions). Hofbrau, a little light but it still drinks pretty well. The worst part of this beer is probably the six-pack holder couples photo,

    River's Edge Rivers & Roads. Fantastic Altbier. Lasting rocky head retention/foamy lacing. Aromas and flavors of big caramel, brown sugar, brown bread dough/crust, roasted nuts, and toasted biscuit; with lighter notes of chocolate, cocoa, coffee, toffee, plum, pear, red apple, wood, herbal, grass, peppercorn, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate herbal, woody, grassy, peppery, roasted bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body; creamy/bready/grainy malts, some sticky hops and chalky roast in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing lingering bitter dryness; no cloying/acrid/astringency. Very smooth, not overly bitter/roasted, zero warming 6%. Wow, one of the best Altbier I've had. Fantastic clean/rich Dark/Munich/light roasted malt showcase; balancing noble hops, and restrained fruity yeast. Mild residual sweetness with lingering dryness. They nailed the style as expected. 4.23

    Tawny hued body with a thin, wispy head; some sheeting and rings of foam inside the glass. Mild toasted grain smell; slight char. Heavy malt flavor; some dark fruit esters; mildly bitter; some acetyl notes. Heavy body; thick and chewy; warm; excellent residual sugar body; semi-seeet/semi-dry. Pretty outstanding!

    FYI - the listed ABV is 8.4% vice the 7.8 % currently listed on BA...

    I will admit that I was never a huge fan of Barleywines, but I'll be damned if this didn't impress me with its rich body and mouthfeel as well as complex balance of vibrant, sweet'ish red/dark fruits, toffee and bitter, piney, citrus hops, with a certain woody, zesty/tangy barrel presence from the Tequila barrels as well, with suprisingly little booziness coming through. This certainly establishes De Molen as one of Europe's finest breweries, especially when it comes to barrel-aged beers, once again.
