Nice, I’d have to go home in a wheelbarrow.

Finished up Celebrator, and finished Olive, Again which is now easily jumped to my favorite book of 2019. Next up Lone Pint Gentleman's Relish, which is a nice English style Brown.

Spinning Somethin' Else by Cannonball Adderley and Miles Davis, an awesome precursor to Kind of Blue, and starting The Topeka School by Ben Lerner. I'm going in blind to both this new book and the author...interested to see how this goes as I know Wapo and New York Times both put this as one of the best books of the year over Olive, Again.

I had a pour of Field Artillery at the brewery yesterday and bought a bottle which I shared with friends last night. It's significantly better than when I first tried it last year. Two Ton is really hitting its stride. It reminds me of how Twin Elephant improved after its first year. And the owners are such nice folks!

Hanging out with the homie Green, right now. Last night, when I paid my server, I wrote "I love you" on the slip, accompanied by a semi-LARRRGE tip. As I was leaving, she walked by and said: I love you, too. Don't I know it. Cheers, and don't be afraid to spread love this holiday or, like yours truly, all year round. Let's do it!!! Wait, that's not it. Let's GOOOOOOOO!!! Ah, f*ck it, I can't remember.

This is without a doubt my personal favorite doppelbock due to its rich, perfect balance of sweet, toasted malts, bitter, herbal hops and light estery spice resulting in quite a complex, yet easy-drinking Doppelbock that never turns too sweet and boozy while still feeling quite rich and satisfying.

That was my first memorable craft beer. We shoulder tapped a dude before a punk show, and instead of buying us the cheapest shit in the place and keeping the change the guy brought us out a case of sunshine wheat. Ah to be young, punk, and drunk....

Been a relatively lazy day here - anticipating some unwanted snow tomorrow into Monday - just in time for the return to work. Haven't had one of these in a while, always a solid offering from SN.

24th (and last) beer in the Costco/Kalea 2019 Advent Calendar. Honestly, a bit of a disappointment, especial for a Doppelbock Dunkel. Maybe still down from Michigan's loss to Ohio State -- congratulations to those of you who are OSU fans, your team looks to be on track to win the national championship this year. Brings this to mind:

It's a bittersweet evening, BAs. Tonight is the last night that my favorite watering hole, Ashley's, is open. After 12 years, they're closing because the mall whose parking lot they're located in haven't been keeping up with maintenance in a pretty bad way.

The original location in Ann Arbor is still going, so at least there's that. Gonna miss having great selections of Belgian and Michigan beers in my backyard, the North American Belgian Beer Fest, Cash Ale Fest, and annual brewery throw down, not to mention the countless tap takeovers and great food and people.

Austin Brothers Triple Berry Sorbet, fruited sour.

Collapsing Dreams. A New World Double IPA from Frau Gruber (Germany).

Had this one earlier today from tap. Comparing is somewhat like seeing the movie after you've red the book of course (or other way around if you prefer). Both are nice after a couple of days of Alt Bier. Alt Bier from tap is also nice, don't get me wrong  And most German classic beers too of course.

    Cheers!

Free glass with a 4-pack? I was going to buy the beer anyway.
