First time to try the Elder -- nice

 

Had a BOulder Hoopla Pale Ale, NEw Glarus Saison, Ipswitch Dark Ale, and now a Founders Breakfast Stout

 

I don't know how to break this to you, but it is Thursday.

 

Not to shabby... it's a solid porter. Not this though Mind Blown.

 

I'm just wondering how much he had to drink....

It's my birthday today so, I went with my family to one of my favorite Mexican places just North of Boston called the Border Cafe. Had a Margarita and a Negra Modelo with dinner. Had this with my b-day cake:



I have been waiting to pop this one for a while now and figured this would be a good time to do so. I applaud Cody's creativity and willingness to think outside the box, but this just didn't work for me. The aromas and taste didn't stay consistent throughout. Big carrot and cream cheese frosting presence on the nose and in the taste, but it just didn't stay consistent. Each sip was different and it was a tough one to put down. Could only stomach a half a glass and drain poured the rest. It also didn't pour like a usual porter. It had more of a mahogany look to it rather than the blackish brown color of most porters. Moved on to a DFH Palo Santo Marron to end the night. That was soooo much better. Cheers!!

 

How much did NFLN drink? Did Rich Eisen's audio go to shit on your TV too? lol.
