Starting out with this great IPA, which is usually impossible to get in these parts younger then 3 months old... This one is 1 and a half months old WOOHOO. That is my victory for today!

The beer history geek in me is really getting a kick out of this. A fine Burton ale. The Past Masters one is better though. Maybe I just had that fresher. This might be just a tad overly sweet for me.

Okay so here is a very brief review for those interested:

    750ml bottle 7,1% Abv.
Served chilled in an over sized wine glass
Blend of various 3F lambic and Armand Spirit.

Appearance: Lightly clouded, beautiful bright golden orange body, with almost no head. A swirl leaves some light alcohol legs. 3.5/5

Smell: Phenomenal, reminiscent of Armand & Tommy but offering so much more! Big fruity notes right of the bat, tart lemon, green apple, dry apple cider, sweeter orange, orange peel, stone fruits (apricot and peach), followed by a fantastic amount of typical 3F funk (black mushrooms, musty, mildew, damp, old books, old wood and an earthy character). As the beer warms a lot of oak emerges along with an underlying fruit sweetness with a hint of granadilla. 4.75/5

Taste:The flavour is absolutely phenomenal, it follows the smell perfectly, but just seems a little better. Puckeringly tart upfront, but seems to mellow after a little while. Notes: Lemon, cider/cider vinegar, sweeter orange, orange peel, overripe stone fruits, musty, mildew, old books, earthy, old wood and a fair amount of oak. As the beer warms a juicy fruity note appears in the middle. 5/5

Mouthfeel: Low carbonation, but just enough to make the flavour "pop". The body is just over medium and quite slick. Best mouthfeel I have had on a lambic! 5/5

Overall: One of the best lambics I have had, highly recommended! 5/5
