I drank a bottle of that back in April. When I opened it up it smelled awful, like old band aids and dirt. I let it breath for a while ,deciding if I was going to dump it or not, and when I tasted it I loved it. Whatever funk was in there stinking it up dissipated after about 20 minutes.
Don't mind if I do......... Good but not my style

Thanks to ijaap for Fred!
Any advice to me is good advice to me for this beer company as this is only the second Hiver (and second beer from this company as well) I've ever had and am wondering about the "so-called" quality control issues they "supposedly have." I dunno... yeah I ended up writing a review, but will definitely go back and change if I can ever find "fresh" hiver. I honestly wasn't that pleased and will research more of this company. Also, I admit, I'm not much of an aged saison kind of guy and I see it came out in the winter if Beer Advocate is correct. I tried to let it breathe for as long as I could and all I could get was "old burnt shoe leather." Sorry to anyone who just loves this stuff, but I'll give this company more of a chance as my budget allows and if I ever see anything in any trade...until then.... well Cheers my fellow BA's.

First beer with this glass...holds a full can. Just perfect after a 9 hour day landscaping in 95 degree heat. This is why we drink beer folks.
