New Trail definitely understands the nuances of a DIPA. Cheers!

All these bullshit rappers, seriously. When you find one that can spit on this level, talk to me. And I'm not talking about OGs, I'm talking about these phony rappers right now. Peace...

I made boneless chicken breasts in the toaster oven for the first time and it was amazing. Perfectly cooked at 400F for 40 minutes. Slight browning on exterior, and the center was perfectly juicy and tender. The Trader Joe's everyday seasoning was perfect, and I splashed some Valentina hot sauce over the whole deal. I had previously only used a George Foreman grill for these, but I am converted. They usually get too tough, burned, or uneven cooking with the grill. Depends on the thickness of the meat.

Weldwerks Puesta Del Sol. Excellent Vienna Lager. Great rocky head retention/foamy lacing. Aromas and flavors of big brown sugar, brown bread dough/crust, toasted biscuit, nutty, and lightly roasted malts; with some herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery hops. Light herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery, roasted bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body, and fairly crisp finishing. Creamy/bready/grainy malts, some sticky hops, and light chalky roast in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing lingering bitter dryness; no cloying/astringent flavors. Very smooth/soft, zero warming 5.4%. Very clean lagering, minimal fruity/yeasty notes. Pretty refreshing. Great clean/rich vienna/munich malt showcase; with balancing earthy noble hops. Light residual sweetness with lingering bitter dryness. Spot on style. No complaints.

Apparently this beer is glass-bendingly strong

A hit-and-miss beer by Settle Down Easy, the pepper is at a nice strength in this batch (fairly fresh, I’m guessing). Pepper flesh in nose and taste, with a light tingle of burn in back. Little flat (these cans are actually filled from tap) overall, but the back end gets a little honey and that bite to cover that up.

    Local beer-drinking Cheers!

    Tonight's Beer Tasting Lineup:

    1) Golden from Blacklist Brewing in Duluth, MN. A lighter golden ale at 4% ABV
    2) Surly's First Avenue +1, a classic golden ale from Surly in Minnesota.
    3) Firestone Walker's Union Jack IPA, a balanced and complex IPA
    4) Surly's Yummi Bear IPA, older and out of season, but still one of the best west-coast IPAs I've had to date.
    5) Guinness Extra Stout, a more robust version of their trademark Draught.
    6) Guinness 200th Anniversary Export Stout, a foreign export stout with nice smokey and roasty qualities.

Best of the night: Yummi Bear from Surly. Ever had it?
    Cheers!

Having another FB. Everytime I drink a beer like this and Heady it reminds me of how wrong Turbid NEIPAs are. These beers have nuance and balance.
And dont get me wrong I drink wrong alot. Doesnt mean its right. You can like wrong - many people do. Just read some brew news sadly it looks like our first wave of small breweries are starting to close permanently. Sucks.[IMG]

Late note: even Mrs. BG says she likes this beer, and she doesn't like IPAs (let alone a DIPA). She likes the color and the taste.

    I have never understood her...:stuck_out_tongue:
