Color me impressed! False Pattern is a remarkable Simcoe/Mosaic "New England Pale Ale" with many of the mouthfeel characteristics of what Other Half would call an "Oat Cream" IPA. Really a pleasure.

A song for our times, but this too shall pass. Fanacht Sábháilt agus Sláinte, mo Chairde!

I really wanted to like this, but unfortunately FrauGruber are proving once again that while they are brewing the best IPAs in Germany, that's really the only style they do well...

Singlecut Shoegazer, an IPA featuring "two juicy stone fruity" hops, which it has been triple dry-hopped with, plus a dose of Pineapple Express cannabis terpenes for aromatics. Huh, interesting..

Lights Out may very well be my favorite pale ale from Treehouse!

I've got partial lay-offs through July which means my weekends start on Thursdays. Gonna get started with Market Legend, IPA with Sabro hops.

More King Crimson, Discipline. One of my favorite 80's albums, and the best thing Robert Fripp has done since Court of the Crimson King.

Also, new beer for me today. Sigma Loggerbier, 4.9% ABV. A small local in Houston.

Pours a beautifully clear and pale golden/yellow color. A dense two finger white head forms with good retention. That gently recedes to leave some lace behind. The nose is almost a neutral grain aroma, but just as soon as I think its going to fade away some lemongrass like hop aromas peak through. Almost too simple, but enjoyable. Taste is Cracker and biscuit like malts up front, but that quickly gives way to a lemon rind/lemongrass hops. Lingering bitterness is very nice. A light to medium body. Great effervescent carbonation, super clean, and finishes wonderfully dry. I can definitely drink a lot of this. Will be coming back often.

I would say this is one of the better lagers made in the Houston area. To be truly exceptional I would like a little more depth. As is, just a tad too subtle even for me, but that is a minor issue. While the lingering lemongrass bitterness is basically the entire show after a while, that is still subtle and enjoyable. Which is not a bad thing at all, and well done all around. I'm impressed with how crisp and clean this is, and will be another good go to lager in Houston.

Overall score 4.07, full review below:

I have yet to really enjoy a beer from Drekker. Hopefully this is a better experience. I'm sure my brother-in-law, @GreenBayBA, thinks I need therapy. Who you tellin? Whether criminal or felon, droppin gems on your melon. RIP, Keith Elam. Hunter, you're at it again. Yes ma'am... (or sir). Peace.

I'll be celebrating Magnify's 5th Anniversary all weekend. Solid Gold Good Times, an all Nelson-hopped DIPA, was the 2nd Anniversary release. It's cool that on each anniversary, Mag re-releases the previous anniversary IPAs. Thank you, Eric, Erich, Sean, Greg, Pat, Amanda, Kamila, James, and Sheryl for 5 years of good times! I can't wait to drink some beers with you in the tasting room again!
