Reminds me of description for Hash House Harriers club (non-competitive running social club) I was in for many years... "A Drinking Club with a Running Problem", as opposed to running club with a drinking problem. It really was more about the running and the fun than the pub crawl at the end of each Hash Run.

After my pancake (flapjack for those of you from Texas!)
I will be having "a few" Voodoo Rangers and my last Mosaic IPA
    Last till shopping trip tomorrow.
BTW North Carolina now allows beer sales at 10am instead of noon!
    Yay!

It's a beautiful Saturday along the South Jersey Shore. I'm still trying to figure out this beer. It seems the best approach is to slam it while very cold. That mutes the odd, soda-like orange taste while taking full advantage of the 8% ABV. I'm off now for a walk and then will probably hit up Slack Tide Brewing. Cheers, BAs!

Have a good Saturday. Slept in late today. Not sure what to do today just yet. Need to go to the music store and get a pedal though.

Boulevard Rye on Rye 6. Amazing as usual. Aromas and flavors of huge raisin, plum, prune, fig, cherry, date, peach, pear, apricot, orange zest, red apple, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, spicy rye whiskey, toasted oak, coconut, and brown bread/crust; with light notes of licorice, molasses, smoke, oak char, leather, tobacco, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast earthiness. Minimal booze in the aromas as it warms. Mild herbal, grassy bitterness; and bourbon, rye, oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Light-medium carbonation and fairly full body; very creamy, silky, bready malts; light slickness, sticky hops, and oak tannins in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing lingering bitter/tannin dryness; no cloying sweetness. Dangerously smooth sipping, mild increasing warmth of 12.9%, minimal lingering barrel booze. Loved it just as much as the base beer. Perfectly balanced between rich malts, fruity yeast, and rye barrel presence/integration. Not overly sweet/heavy from lingering bitter/tannic dryness. Very similar to an English barleywine as with the base beer.

Back from walking the dogs. Partly cloudy and not hot, so a good time for a walk.
This is a nice refreshing beer.

Latin-themed beer, Latin shirt, Latin music. And pizza??? WTF??? Damn I missed an opportunity for the superfecta on that one.

I heard Rodrigo y Gabriela for the first time down in Guatemala in 2011.

New Republic Brewing (College Station, TX) Windlass Sweet Potato Porter - a smooth, rich porter that went well with our veggie pizza.

Looks like New Republic is going to be a victim of the virus, closing at the end of June. I am sorry to hear this. They had good beer, always had some dark beers on hand, often had live music, and they are just a few miles away. Hoping Aggieland gets another good brewery soon.

    The Brewer’s Art - Ozzy - 2013

Going deep into my stash. This beer was an American riff on all of the “devil” Belgian beers (aka Duvel copycats). This is a classic case of a craft brewer shamelessly using branding that rides on the backs of something else in the entertainment industry. In 2013, the brewer began packaging this in cans (it was previously bottled). And in 2014, they deservedly received a cease and desist from the Osbourne camp. The Brewer’s Art had to rename the beer and they went with Beazly. The best-by date on this can is 1/19/14, so this can is about 7 years old. It’s unsurprisingly oxidized but not terribly so. I’m surprised by how well it's held up. Cheers.

This one goes out to @guinness77

Since it is a bit chilly, I decided to wait to start painting my west-facing porch until the sun hits it. I will wait it out on the east side of my house, while drinking Zombie Dust.

Finished up my last tart beer and opted for a second one. The previous was a bit more refreshing while Lit Fam is leaning a bit more on sourness. I think I am getting a little bit of the tomatillo in this flat pour.

Kids are trying Boylan's Creme Ale. Might be their first cream ale.
Girl thinks it's creamy, bubbly and delicious. Boy liked the smell of it, but is just so-so on the flavor.

Wife and I are starting out with a Jordanian coffee stout, Carakale's Black Camel Spider.
It's a solid but not impressive beer. Standard dark, roasted malt characteristics, maybe a hint of anise; vanilla in the aroma that I couldn't find in the flavor (unfortunately) -- and lots of dark roast coffee.

Looking forward to the Untappd event in about an hour...

No music playing right now. Kids are watching Aladdin.
