Love this stuff.
Gotta love Jack's Abby
My favorite newish Maiden song
So this brewery refuses to date their cans, and doesn't provide any ABV info on the can or on their website. In this day and age, and for a NEIPA, I mean, WTF??
That having been said, their NEIPAs are SOOOOOO GOOOOOOD that I'll forgive almost any transgression. Heat Lightning is probably one of their finest efforts to date. It is soft, pillowy, juicy, full of citrus - hits all my hot buttons.
New Trail is headquartered in lovely Williamsport PA. Williamsport's claim to fame is the Little League World Series. This brewery has the potential to upset that status quo. "Williamsport? Oh, yeah - that's where New trail Brewing started. And wasn't there something about baseball....?"
This is really good beer. Get you some.
Speaking of baseball, MLB starts a shortened season July 23. I'm still PO'd at MLB for the (lack of) the 1994 World Series, so I've religiously avoided MLB games since then, spending my dollars on minor and independent league games. However, since all of baseball was shut down this spring thanks to COVID-19, I must admit that I'm going thru withdrawal and I'm actually looking forward to watching some MLB games. (I still wouldn't ATTEND any, though.)
IMO, JUST my opinion, the West Coast and Midwest hazy has a lot to learn. Are they trying to replicate the NE heavyweights? Probably not. But it's nowhere NEAR what New England is drinking in said style.
Oxbow is a welcomed addition to distribution here. Yesterday, I grabbed a few more 4 pack of this lager. It’s very fresh and very good.
Tonight, the music will be Marcus King Band. I’ve now got all 3 LP’s and I plan on listening to them back-to-back-to-back.
First is Soul Insight from 2015.
Cheers and good vibes to everyone!
A trip to The Veil to pick up some bottles. While there had:
Dusty Dusty Roadz Roadz
Hollow Place Maple and Cocoa
Sitting back now watching some TV with a fresh Tried Crossing Valhalla! Cheers!
Time for King Sue! 75 days until the first NFL game. It won’t be long until baseball either. I’m hoping the players stay healthy and we all get sports on TV.
FYI, I met with two of their reps in the fall. They have started listing the abv on some of their flagships: case in point, Broken Heels. They "claimed" the reason they don't date the cans is because the can stamper is out of commission. Clearly, they've sold enough beer to either fix it, or get a new one. You can usually find the abv listed on their website, as well as Untappd. Cheers!
Bitburger/Sierra Nevada triple hopped collaboration.
Time for definitely another beer!
A week from today, holy sheepshit.
One more beer before some QT with the gf. This is one of my favorites, as many know. Superb. I'm not all about the haze. I'm all about the IPAs. Peace, everyone!
And, for the folks who seemingly forgot we're still in the middle of a pandemic...
What's the date on that can. Seems to be more clear than the usual murk bomb it is. Hope it doesn't affect the taste
Monkish is the closest thing. That said, I'd still pick Tree House over them. Cheers.
I am invoking the @vabeerguy rule as I move on from beer...
Straight bourbon in a chilled glass. I'll admit myself to WBAYDN jail now.
Their core lineup is better than 99% of haze out their. They don't have to release 5 new beers a week. Just putting out the consistently good haze is enough and I admire that. God I love treehouse
Mine seemed a little less murky earlier too. Mine is dated 6-12. Tasted fine however.
Larry, I will say, she looks the part. However, can she act?
Hell yes. Nice to see you!
Most definitely, she'll get an Oscar ...
Nice riffing LarryV - reminds me of a fusion between late night show band outtro and a bit of late Police reverb. Well done.
Odd Muse Brewing
All In A Dream Mango IPA, local brewery that's putting out some tasty stuff.
Thanks man, I appreciate it! Thanks so much for giving it a listen.
Sticking with the pale ale's for now..
My father brought me a nice haul back from LA today, gonna get into a few tonight. Cheers!
Switching things up and splitting a Thomas Hardy 50th Anniversary barleywine with my wife. Loads of great raisin flavor that makes for a nice sipper.
Very tasty brew, my last can.
Mango Pineapple Imperial Smoothie Untitled Art
King's X Please Come Home...Mr. Bulbous 2000 Metal Blade Records, Inc.
OTV On The Virg Serious Young Insects (Australia) 1999 Verocity Music PTY Ltd
One more tonight, and its a big one. Boulevard BBQ, and Tom Waits The Heart of Saturday Night. Probably the best late night album to listen to (well maybe Sinatra's In The Wee Small Hours would give it a run, and had a pretty big influence here as well).
A great afternoon w @Danmullens1 , his dad and SIL and the very nice @GreenBayBA along w some other nice folks including Nate ! Beer was great as always. I am working on a 2019 The Wolf now as I try to get caught up on today's posts. I think @GreenBayBA may be staying over at the brewery. He has offered to be a weekend taster/quality control guru
Apparently GreenBay had a good time!!
I just finished my last bottle of that this week, need to get some more. A really underrated and well priced bourbon.
My last Super Cluster on hand. I have been cleaning up the last of some IPA six packs I revisited via grocery delivery during the heart of lockdown. I can’t help but think that will happen again in the future. Gotta be safe and enjoy the little things like family, friends, good health, and good brews.
