Hibiscus Wheat from Yonker's Brewing may not be very well known, but really a fun and refreshing concoction for summer.

Kicking back with a can of Boundary Bay Razz Vice, a heavily raspberried berlinerweisse. Nice for this blue sky afternoon in the Fourth Corner.

My partner did not give this one a glowing recommendation, and she's less picky than I (other than not liking IPAs, which is a sin for which I struggle to forgive her). I'm not super enthused, either; the only Anderson Valley offerings I tend to like are their Gose.

You know what? It's definitely not bad. It's pretty difficult to tell this thing ever saw time in a bourbon barrel, but perhaps that will improve as it warms. It tastes a bit artificial, and I'm not getting as much salted caramel as would justify the name; instead, lots of prune and cola. But still, definitely not bad!

If that’s true, @lordofthewiens, take heart as my last round (first in nearly a year) was closer to 7,000 than 78 :frowning2:

Tonight's Beer Tasting Lineup is Battle Beers:

    1) Stella Artois, a fantastic European pale lager which stands as one of the simplest and best. Versus
    2) Molson Canadian lager, almost as good and just slightly more bready

    3) Gold Coin Helles, from Backpocket Brewing in Iowa. A light and easy-drinking helles
    versus
    4) Bent Paddle's Classic, which is actually a cream ale, but drinks more like a helles.

    5) Toppling Goliath's Pompeii (5.8%), a mosaic IPA with fantastic pineapple and strawberry flavors while being moderately sweet. Drinks more like a pale ale.
    versus
    6) Toppling Goliath's King Sue (7.8%)

    Winners:
    1) Stella Artois: Stands as one of the best pale Euro lagers
    4) Bent Paddle's Classic: a nice and earthy helles
    6) King Sue: Tough comparison given it has more alcohol, but also it has those nice green and earthy notes that are found in Pseudosue to complete the beer. It also has more of that IPA bite.

Agree/Disagree with the ratings? Do you like Pompeii or King Sue better?

Are you drinking them all right now?

Also, King Sue should be the clear winner. Are we serious?

Also, I'd like to see battle beers of the same style.

Also, are you doing any palate cleansing between beers?

    Also, I love you.

    Peace.

Had a member send some TG my way, wasn't overly impressed. The two in the middle I have no access to. Out of the pale lagers on the left I'd go Molson strictly because of HNIC.
