What beer are you drinking now? #2840

Hop Butcher Blazed Orange Milkshake DIPA (orange, vanilla, lactose, Citra/Strata). Been a while since I’ve had this HB classic. Just as good as I remember. A little bubblegum thing from what I’m assuming is the yeast, which isn’t typical for this brew, but not a bad thing. Orange creamsicle for days, but with a nice citrus and pine hop presence in the background providing not only hop flavor, but bitterness as well to somewhat balance out the sweetness.

 

Rahr & Sons Oktoberfest again tonight. Might finish up with a Hoppenheimer.

 

I will grab it without hesitation if I see it! Sigh, I bet this year's chili fest gets cancelled - I was looking forward to it, me and my daughter were going to head out your way and I was hoping to meet up, but unfortunately, until this pandemic is over with plans just need to be on hold. I avoid crowds like the plague at this time. Cheers!

 

That FW Flyjack was better than I could hope for. Next up, Old Nation Boss Tweed. Had to get fitted for a new N-95 Mask, apparently management doesn't like the ones with the valves on the front. Apparently the user is protected but can make everyone else ill with their exhilations

 

Dinner was roasted chicken breast in a mushroom and onion gravy with roasted potatoes.


Now it's time for a beer: KCBC's Hatchet Job. It's pretty good. Pictured with some life preservers my wife made out of homemade fondant for a nautically themed cake she's making for a friend's baby shower this weekend.


Long day at work. Started around 5:45 and finished around 5:30. Interview days can be very long.

And actually, I shouldn't say the day is finished yet...now that I have this beer in front of me I'm going to go read interviewer feedback.

Nothing goes better with the hippie chick than some vintage Fleetwood Mac. Hands down, this is my absolute favorite FM album. No Stevie Nicks or Lindsey Buckingham - not that they weren't good. I just prefer Christine McVie's lovely voice and Dan Kirwan's great guitar playing. To me, the band was in the zone on this album and after 49 years, this album still stands out to me as one of their best, I never tire of listening to it.

It doesn't get any dreamier than this tune - the guitar playing is outstanding. I love the guitar solo right around 5:30, just excellent.
