    We have a winner! Very tasty Octoberfest from Wiseacre, out of Memphis. I wasn't a fan of their schwarzbier, but this one compares favorably with the Paulaner I pounded just before.

    In honor of Stone and their new CEO. I haven't had an Arrogant Bastard in over 10 years; it's still a very good and warming ale. This is in advance of their announcement for the new Humble Servant Ale, slated for release the month between November and December. Just, just The Allman Brothers.

    Portillos is fantastic stuff. Got a loaded chili dog, Italian beef with hot peppers, and fries amply salted.

    Hill Farmstead - Florence (2017 vintage)

    This is an undeniably beautiful farmhouse ale. My big thing is complexity in beer, and my god, does this deliver complexity. Never before have I been so lost for words in trying to describe notes in a review. This is in a league of its own. Old dusty stone cellar, damp forest floor, dead leaves, wet hay, fresh rain, dewy meadow flowers, tree bark, misty autumn air, unburned fizzy pop incense, lemon-lime, cologne with some time of beachy or maritime theme... What a delightful experience thanks to Hill Farmstead and the wonderful Mr. @acurtis. A magical farmhouse ale!

    I'm jealous, love that area. It looks like we are going to have to cancel our trip to St. Pete in October again unless something drastically changes in the next few weeks. It was the the trip I cancelled from March. Cheers.

    Foundation Epiphany

    Poured from a can; no visible freshness date but I know it arrived at the store this week.

    Pours into my tulip glass a lighter shade of banana cream - fully opaque - with a creamy off white head. Fluffy lace.

    Scent is bursting with tropical fruit. Mango pineapple jackfruit guava. Pine. Orange juice. Citrus.

    Taste is just like the nose. An array of tropical fruit and citrus flavors. A touch of pine resin. Pineapple, mango. Lime and tangerine. Grapefruit. Earthy hops. Spicy hops. Herbal hops. Not especially bitter. Mildly peppery. Malt is very light; pretzls?

    Mouth is soft and creamy/juicy. Like drinking pineapple orange juice. Has an interesting way of sort of stepping out of the way quickly rather than lingering, which makes you want more.

    Drinkability very high for an 8% ABV.

    Well, didn't know if this one would stand up to the hype. A score of 98!? Yeah whatever. Well, I guess it does. "De do do do de da da da is all I want to say" about it. Or better yet, "Yum."
