Have a good Thursday. Actually got a few hours of sleep tonight. Got my prescriptions refilled yesterday finally after being out of them for about a month. Much required. My uncle called me randomly in the pharmacy around 6PM and we went to Der Dutchman restaurant in the middle of Amish country (Walnut Creek), and got Roast beef and Coconut cream pie; all was amazing. I am still feeling pretty full from all that. Probably some more video game time today. I have hundreds I haven’t played yet.

Awesome Dunkelweizen as usual. Think this was the last of the 4 pack I got, I bought it in Indiana oddly enough.

I should really listen to Supertramp more often.

Pretty tame ABV wise at 7%, but starting to get funky at around a year in the bottle. I'm enhancing the experience with some New Riff single barrel 105.2 proof.

A foggy ride home after 13 hours required a copilot. I chose George

Cheers all & enjoy your Thursday!

Curiosity getting the better of me, I just had to know what a carrot lambic would be like. Not terrible, but leans more into wild ale territory to compensate for the robust vegetable flavor of the carrot juice

Will be drinking this over the next three days, a free MBA growler (one for every 10 beers) from Goose Island Brewpub on Clybourn. This particular growler is Goose Island Born and Raised. This beer was not made on Clybourn, but was made in the Fulton Brewery. They have discontinued issuing new MBA (Masters of Beer Appreciation) for now, at least during COVID, but are still updating and honoring booklets issued before the March closures.

I really like this beer, a 5.9% Chicago Style Cream Ale, haven't had it for over a year since it is draft only.

I was surprised that I really liked this 4.6% light lager.

A blend of the best Baptist barrels from 2017. I wasn't sure what to expect but was pleasantly surprised at how good this is. Rum forward with dark roast, chocolate, figs, tobacco, char and a little oak in the finish. I smell some coconut but can't taste any. Still a solid barrel aged beast!

I'm over my dad's house. Left about a case of beer over here a few weeks ago when I was here for the job interview. My cats are still chilling here at the moment. I need to go to Michigan next week and sign out of my residence. I just got my absentee ballot mailing to me today. Couldn't register in Ohio.

Both bikes and ebikes are pretty much sold out around here (Bay Area California), at least the mid-range types. We visited many stores over the summer, and the answers were mostly the same..."Sorry, we are oversold or sold out on new bikes/ebikes".

Fall may be the time to restock, but going out to the coast or in/around the Santa Cruz mountain roads/goat trails, there are bikes everywhere. That and motorcycles. Cars are the minority.

Just received a delivery from Wellington Brewery in Guelph, Ontario. 48 cans of their Imperial Russian Stout, one of which I am enjoying now. The beer is $18 per 24 cheaper if I order directly from the brewery rather than purchasing it at the LCBO. Even after the $10 delivery charge, I’m still $26 to the good. A no brainer. Due to a combination of quality and price, this is my “go to” Imperial Stout. It scores an 89 here (I’m a little higher) and works out to about $3.25 Canadian ($2.45 U.S.) per 500ml can when ordered direct from the brewery. In my experience it’s basically impossible to beat that price for a high quality Imperial Stout. Cheers.

Quick correction, the cans are 473ml, not 500ml. I had a German beer that was 500ml, so that number was on my brain. Still, a great deal.

    Pühaste (Estonia) - Magnet.

A classic American IPA with a light West Coast vibe to it, which is great. Very enjoyable brew with a great balance of fruity and bitter, resinous notes, as well as medium malt body and great bitterness in the finish. There are some of my favorite hop varieties in this and they work together very well here, with a great combination of tropical, citrus, berry and pine notes.
