    Happy Friday peeps

Amazingly delicious fresh hop local brew, in a very sweet new Duvel art series glass - created by Amsterdam tattoo artist Morrison Schiffmacher....love it! Her Dad owns several famous ink shops in Amsterdam...the glass is a beauty (and so is she!)

I love Doppelbock. Wish more breweries made those. Ayinger is excellent. Cheers!

Are there are breweries you can recommend around Barrie, Ontario? I inherited some land up there but haven't had a chance to check it out yet. I am a dual US/Canadian citizen and I probably need to find a lawyer because the issues regarding this land are going to be a pain in the ass and I have kind of been ignoring the whole thing. I don't have a Canadian passport yet, only a citizenship certificate, so if I want to enter Canada I have to drive rather than fly due to border restrictions. I have family up there I haven't seen in 30 years so I should probably put it on my list of things to do but if I am up there anyway obvious I should check out any breweries around

And here it is, one of the most minimalist, (ha is that a thing ) honest and heart breaking albums ever recorded. A quick 30 minute masterpiece, and every second is stunning. It also has one of my favorite album covers as well. Sam Smith Oatmeal Stout going do easy as well.

Barnstormer, Redline and Flying Monkeys are three very good breweries right in Barrie. Otherwise, there’s not a lot in the immediate area. If driving, doing the trip in the winter could be problematic. Barrie is in the snow belt and gets some absolutely wicked storms. When I worked in Toronto I had a colleague who commuted from Barrie. There would be days that we had blue skies and not a snow flake to be found and she couldn’t even get out of her driveway. All the best. Cheers.

In n Out and my first Firestone Walker Double Jack.

Firestone Walker Double Jack, 12 oz can 8/28/20 8:43, 9.5% ABV

Appearance: Clear golden tan, soapy white head, leaves light clumpy lacing. Light carbonation throughout. 4.0

    Aroma:
    Light pine aroma. 3.0

    Taste:
Much stronger taste than aroma, sweet caramel malt, pine is strong. Dry and bitter, in a pleasant way. More sweet than Union Jack, but not overpowering. Works well. 4.25

    Mouthfeel:
Medium full creamy body, minimal carbonation, slightly oily, light bitter dry aftertaste. 4.25

    Overall:
Well executed double IPA, glad I have a few more after shares before returning home. 4.0

After having King Citra, I wasn't expecting this to be at that same level, and it wasn't, but this is good stuff, and luckily for us, Fieldwork is still on top of their game and knocking out delicious brews.

Mystery beer here courtesy of my brother, @Justonemore91. It looks like an IPA; it smells like an IPA; and what do you know, it tastes like an IPA! Haha. No complaints over here, advocates. Milky lemon colored haze. Nose is juicy fruit gum, grapefruit pith, and a touch of mango. Taste is green mango, sweet and astringent, and a touch of blueberry. Buttery soft mouthfeel. If I had to guess an abv, I'd say 8.5%. Cheers, and thank you, my brother!!!

Surveys says... Babbleship from Monkish. A DDH DIPA at 8.2%.

Got to switch up the stouts and porters for a bit (I'll have some more, got Sierra Nevada Narwhal waiting for me). Altstadt Amber Altbier is really good.

And pulling out my Lady Day-Complete Billie Holiday on Columbia 1933-1944 10 disc box set. One of my favorites. From the packaging, to the liner notes which are some of the best anywhere and basically a 120 page book, and of coarse the music.
